Yes, I know. I was referring to her father fighting over using the "powder room" first when there were 3 other bathrooms in the house. Plus from what I read back in the 18th century, at least in Europe, they didn't bother with a bucket, they just let'er rip.
Why do you think they are called Eur-a-peeing

There are four bathrooms in this house.
That is more than what I grew up with. There was no fighting.

There was only 2 bathrooms in the house I grew up in. I grew up in a family of 4. 1 bathroom has a bathtub and 1 has a shower stall. 1 on the main floor and 1 upstairs. Parts of the house was built in the 1920s. Part of the 2nd floor were built at a much later date. I trying to go by my memory based on information my dad told in the past. The original owners of the house were my dad's grandparents.

How I remembered was if you were on the first floor you, can go to the bathroom before someone starts taking a bath.

they switched to "green" (less polluting, less bright fireworks) but not less smoky as far I know :p

:hilarious:
I’ve never heard of “less smoky” fireworks, much less “smokeless”...?! 🤔
I could see, maybe, less smoky based on the compounds used, but, totally smokeless...? :cyclops:
However, I do know that certain ethanol fuels, mainly used in auto racing, can burn smokeless with a practically invisible flame, in certain situations.

We stayed a second night in the room. (Buy 2 get one free; we can use the free night when we go to WDW - hopefully for my 50th next…omg…month 🤭)

Picked a place to eat on the beach that was a total winner. Complete with a toast to passing the halfway mark of nursing school and expanding the store. Elsa who?
I’ll be 59 in October, whippersnapper...!!! ;)
Glad y’all had a great time...!!! :)

What a beautiful family! Glad that everyone had a great time over the holiday. (And Emy continues to amaze me with her big sister love-fest, with Audrey!) Also, I had a chuckle seeing Emy with the sparklers! :hilarious:

(Now, if we could just get the local fireworks jerks here to switch over from their M-80s, to sparklers, I might not hate them all so much! :banghead: ) Actually, they didn't even bother to set off any last night -- apparently (according to a neighbor), the cops read them the riot act 2 nights ago, when they caught them setting them off on school property nearby.

Thanks very much, Minnie...!!! :)
Emmy is truly enjoyin’ bein’ a big sister...!!!!!
And, yes, Emmy loves sparklers, especially the multi-colored kind...!!! :)

Sorry about the “firejerks” ;), but, glad to hear the cops gave ‘em the what for...!!! :)

By us they were selling buy 1 get 2 free on July 3rd and 4th. My development was quiet though. Was nice to see the spectacle of fireworks from other places in the valley though. My cat Oliver watched the town ones from our kitchen table. He was laying down on it and when they started shooting up he got up and got closer to the window and watched a little. Then he got bored and laid back down.

Which lead me to research...!!! ;)

I do not believe in the "smolekess" either.
The claim was that it had less smoke but I do not believe that either.
What I heard was less polluting but less bright ones. Nothing more.

No worries, I was just bein’ silly...!!! ;) :)
I just find it funny that a company that claims to be so darn “green” is back to blowin’ off hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of “polluting” fireworks every week again...the hypocrisy blows my mind...why haven’t they gone to everything lasers, projections, and drones by now...and, I also wonder how many millions they saved on fireworks bein’ shut down for so long...!!!!! :cyclops:🤔:hilarious:

Pretty sure they are saving more money in the EMH reduction (less employee hours) and the removal of perks like the magical express.
I still wonder how cheap Disney could be considering these kind of contracts between companies (Disney and MEARS) would always provide huge discounts for long term contracts.

I like the idea of the powder room in that guests don't have to intrude and use the full bathrooms of the house and can just do their business in the powder room. My house has 2 full bathrooms and no powder room. My big master bathroom is attached to the master bedroom. I'm surprised no one has been offended by the word "master"! 😉 since a number of words seem to offend some nowadays.
Sure, but "master" has a couple of different meanings. You master a skill or talent, meaning you become proficient. (Masters degree) A person can be a "Master of ceremonies" meaning the main person who leads the event. It isn't necessarily always controversial.

Yes, hygiene and sanitation weren't exactly great back then....that's apparently depicted in Liberty Square at Disney by a difference in colors of the walkway. I'm glad to be living in a time in which that's not an issue.

It's almost not an issue. There is plenty of nasty currently. At least not the norm! I was reading somewhere that the Palace of Versailles had no type of facilities at all and people, male and female, just lifted a leg (as it were) and did anything in any corner or wherever they happened to be standing. It was reported that the odor in the place was unbearable. Good times!

Our house, had one bathroom with 4 of us. I don't remember it ever being a problem, at least not for me. However, with three females and myself, it was quite similar to scoring a Fastpass at Disney. You reserved your bathroom pass 60 days ahead of time. After my daughters were married and gone and we divorced, for a short while I was alone in the house and contrary to what one might think it wasn't until then that I noticed how small our place was. It didn't start out that way, but by the time the girls matured into adults it was hard to walk around without bumping into each other. Three bedroom ranch, 1250 sq. ft. and it always seemed to be just right.

In a pinch, one can uses the bathroom sink not just the powder room to wash clothes with detergent then hang dry afterwards.
I can honestly say that I have never been quite that "pinched". Close to it on my Trans-Atlantic cruise from Italy to Florida. It was a 5 or six day cruise and I think if it went one more day it might have pinched enough to do that. I was quickly running out of clean clothes. I almost felt bad for the Customs agent that had to rummage through dirty clothes in my suitcase. 😬😧

Fortunately, the apartment we rented in Rome had laundry equipment. Way different than anything I tried to operate in the past, but I finally figured it out so I started out on the cruise with everything clean. It was a chore to keep up with it after three weeks touring parts of Europe. Now that I think of it I might have had to resort to sink washing along the way, but I have conveniently blocked that part out of my mind. 😎
