3:43 am with heavy cloud cover. Dark;)
We had some hefty thunder and lightning storms last night. Lights off in the bedroom watching TV around 9 PM, and these bolts of lightning flashes came through the window and lit up the room!! :jawdrop: We had to give Jack some of his doggie tranquilizers (vet prescribed them), as he freaks out in those types of storms. So, he was out like a light on the rug, snoozing, while I was the one freaking out! :hilarious:

Good thing is that the storms last night also took away the humidity (it was just one day of that), and we're good to go for the next 5-6 days with more pleasant temperatures (50-70) outside.

That sounds like a typical afternoon in the summer at WDW. Hot sunny and humid in the AM, the skies darken in the late afternoon and I recall all of us crowding into the bathrooms, gift shops, attractions with all the other fellow guests in the theme parks to escape the tremendous rains and lightning in the afternoon. Then we would walking the rest of the day like a wet sponge.

Here in SC we need rain badly I would hate to think what my water bill would be if we did not have a well. It has been well into the 90's the past week much to early for temps like that --yuck
It was 90 here on Tuesday. Yesterday was in the 80’s. I am ok with those temps. We got lots of yard work done. On Friday, Saturday, and Sunday it is going to rain and be cold. Saturday with a high of 55! Please being back the 80’s and 90’s.

Our 4 most dangerous snakes here in Texas (in no particular order) are rattlesnakes, coral snakes, water moccasins, and copperheads.
I’ve never ran into either of the first 2, and have only seen water moccasins from relatively afar, but, I’ve personally killed 2 small copperheads.
And yes, I’ve studied Texas snakes enough to know that they were indeed actual copperheads.
The only place that I have seen the water snakes have been at WDW in the faux mote around the castle. I was just standing there near the entrance to Tomorrowland looking around and they caught my eye swimming happily toward the front of the castle. The others I have never seen and have no desire to do so.

I was born and spent my first 15 years in upper, upper New York State and just a few miles from my home was a place, called Salmon river, that had the reputation of having rattlesnakes in large numbers. It might have been just an old legend because I never knew anyone that saw one of them, but everyone believed they were there. It seems like the 8 or 9 months of rather chilly temperatures would have kept them pretty inactive most of the year if they did exist.

We hit 96 here yesterday. Never broke a sweat. My Air Conditioned apartment helped that situation.

We are dry and near 90 also @John park hopper 😟 We are heading on 15 days without a drop of rain. My green lawn is slowly turning light green.

I remember my apt from years ago. It was small but the AC cooled the unit very fast. Some of the older condos in Miami Beach have AC units but no heat. I was looking at 55 and up South FL retirement communities and some of the the condos have the full amenities, some units heat/AC and some only AC. With temps like 90s and 100s , I would be in the AC most of the day.

I may have to cover my plants Sunday night. We're not going to get a frost but they have blossoms I don't want to drop
