Just got done making my Disneyland park reservations!!! I actually booked flights and a hotel a couple weeks ago, being hopeful that Disneyland would open to non-California residents by July. I wonder how much prices have jumped now for flights and hotel now that Disneyland will be open to all.

or as some of us call it a quick trip to restock what the boys ate yesterday![]()
Wait, what happened?
Dark really, really dark![]()
We had some hefty thunder and lightning storms last night. Lights off in the bedroom watching TV around 9 PM, and these bolts of lightning flashes came through the window and lit up the room!!We had to give Jack some of his doggie tranquilizers (vet prescribed them), as he freaks out in those types of storms. So, he was out like a light on the rug, snoozing, while I was the one freaking out!
Good thing is that the storms last night also took away the humidity (it was just one day of that), and we're good to go for the next 5-6 days with more pleasant temperatures (50-70) outside.![]()
Sounds like yet_another_katiehbug_moment ? XDIt was nothing of major consequence.
It was just one of those posts that makes you roll your eyes, then shake your head and LOL. I chose to post the gif here so as not to offend or fuel the member. It was also pretty much political, so I prefer not to refer to it.
I think it's like anything else over a large span of time. Childbirth used to be extremely dangerous, but because of technology and new information, it's relatively safe today. We used to not have conveniences like refrigerators or ovens....things were cooked over a fire and you couldn't store food at cold temperatures, so food poisoning was a danger. It's all different today because of new developments. If we had known back when I was a kid that it was unsafe for kids to ride in the car without a seat or being strapped in, our parents wouldn't have done that, but we DIDN'T know, and we didn't have the seats? Our knowledge has grown so much that now we can be so much safer. Smoking was supposed to help lower blood pressure, but now we know it can cause cancer, lung disease, etc...Sounds like my childhood with minimal safety equipment, etc.My brothers were both wild, and somehow even they also survived!
That said, it is good that newer safety guidelines were developed over the years. Even though we were lucky survivors as kids, I'm assuming that some other children might not have been so lucky. Hence, there was a need for more safety research, in regard to children. It's probably for the best.
I like it just a bit warmer than that....it's supposed to be about 65 today and that would be just about perfect Disney weather for me...not so cold that you need a jacket, but also not so hot that you are sweating as soon as you step outside, and also not so hot that they have the AC cranked in the restaurants. We always freeze in the restaurants because they have them on so high! Even bringing a thick sweatshirt isn't enough. It's 54 outside now. Ahhhhh . . . refreshing coolness!!![]()
And then feel sad when you discover someone has drunk your coffee .Anyone else also do this silly move? I make a cup of coffee in the morning, and bring it over to the computer. Drink it slowly, so it takes a while before it's gone. That's o.k., but sometimes after I've finished the cup, I reach for the (empty) cup again -- as if there is still coffee in there. And then maybe an hour later -- I reach for the empty cup again!

Aren't copperheads a kind of rattle snake? We had a lot of rattlesnakes in Wyoming, but I couldn't tell one snake from another, so I just avoided them all. I know there are many different types of rattlers, and I know I grew up hearing about various snakes, copperheads being one of them, but I just don't remember if they are rattlers or not. I think we had diamond backs mostly. Our 4 most dangerous snakes here in Texas (in no particular order) are rattlesnakes, coral snakes, water moccasins, and copperheads.
I’ve never ran into either of the first 2, and have only seen water moccasins from relatively afar, but, I’ve personally killed 2 small copperheads.
And yes, I’ve studied Texas snakes enough to know that they were indeed actual copperheads.
