Brood 13 Cicadas is not going to be fast food in Wisconsin to Copperheads. Copperheads are not suppose to live in Wisconsin at all.
I spent every summer at the Wisconsin Dells growing up and I spent 4 years as a camp counselor in middle and the North woods. I can assure you there are plenty of copper heads in Wisconsin.

That is a surprise. According the Wisconsin DNR website, there are not copper head snakes unless there is information off there and I checked multiple websites including one that has pictures of Wisconsin snakes. The only poisonous snakes in Wisconsin is the eastern massasauga and the Timber Rattlesnake.

I went by those sites since I live in south eastern Wisconsin in my entire life, but I'm not a woods person.

I didn't see snakes in the places I went to in Wisconsin such as the Dells, Door County, Shawano, New London, Oconto County, and Green Bay.

You know who else likes them?

Our 4 most dangerous snakes here in Texas (in no particular order) are rattlesnakes, coral snakes, water moccasins, and copperheads.
I’ve never ran into either of the first 2, and have only seen water moccasins from relatively afar, but, I’ve personally killed 2 small copperheads.
And yes, I’ve studied Texas snakes enough to know that they were indeed actual copperheads.

We are talking about the 70s and 80s so maybe times have changed.
