Oh no! Did he have to have the wrist casted, or did they just give him a brace? My son broke his wrist a few years ago and had a cast for a while. No fun!!!
But yay for Brian doing so well in school!! He's going to make an awesome nurse! He's going to be a hero to so many people...I loved my mom's nurses when she was doing chemo. They were so much fun and just so sweet.

Is the nice weather better for Kylie, or has it not been to cold anyway? I'm glad she's better! And yay for your stores...that must be a relief that they are doing well despite the pandemic. Stores here have been closed for a couple of months and aren't doing well if they don't have online sales. Where I work it is exclusively online, and our sales have increased dramatically in the last year. You do online sales, too, right? Have you seen more online sales than usual?

My goodness! A fractured wrist, too?! :jawdrop: Please let him know that we're all thinking of him ❤️ , and are sending pixie dust to help speed his FULL recovery. (Sorry to hear that he's still in a bit of pain in his ribs.)

Wonderful news that he's finished his 3rd semester (already). Time flies. Good for him, for his continued positive career plan.

Glad to hear that Kylie is a bit better. At that age, all you can do is attempt to manage symptoms, and just let her go about her daily routines. She's probably very happy, and may not even notice that she's slowed down a bit. I think dogs handle stuff like that better than people. ;) They just go with the flow.

That's great about your stores still going strong! That's promising to hear overall, as it's also a reflection of the economy (at least in part). :)
Wrist: splint & brace.
Weather: fab. (And she doesn’t mind a little chill. I do!)
We do online sales (I started this business on eBay 22 years ago this month) but we tend to take our foot off the gas a bit when the stores are doing well.

We just announced an arrangement where you can book the store for private shopping for one hour before opening or after closing. We know some regulars who haven’t been in for the last year. They have to pay $20 up front, which goes 100% to the employee who agrees to stay the extra hour. It also gets applied to their purchase. (Really just a guarantee they’ll show up.) We’ve gotten two bookings already.

And we are now a double RAV4 driveway.

My shot went fine, thanks for asking. My arm is a little sore, like it is when I get a flu shot. So far so good. In 21 days I'll get my second shot. Hubs got his second shot today, he was feeling fine but we will see how he feels tomorrow.

Good. Tell Brad we hope he feels good tomorrow!!
Just a reminder that I didn't have any reaction to the second shot until 8 days after. I don't think that is the usual reaction time, but it can happen. I had chills and slight fever. It lasted for approximately 2.5 hours and was gone. I'm only telling people this so they don't panic if it shows up later. I am almost 4 weeks out now with no further problems at all.

Actually this is a good look. Dress, pearls and heals to vacuum. Does anyone remember the original Carousel of Progress where John is talking about his wife doing laundry and ironing and she makes a comment about how much work she has to do and he just tells her to "just iron my shirts". I wonder why that isn't still in the show.

John: That's my wife Sarah.

Sarah: But with my new wash day marvel, it takes only five hours to do the wash. Imagine!

John: That's right folks. Now Mother has time for recreations like-

Sarah: Like canning and polishing the stove?

John: (Laughs.) Ok Mother! You just iron the wrinkles out of my shirts.

Sarah: Yes, dear.

Thank you I have the boys cleaning between chores today, they have stuff in the freezer to heat up today or James can make them eggs. The only "work" I'm going to do today is changing out summer sewing fabric from the winter fabric while a Potterthon is on in the background. Well that's the plan

We are at Toyota now, hoping to get a new car (leased.) He is looking at the same one I have, the RAV4.

He has much less pain from the ribs. I’m not sure if I posted here, but a few days after the rib diagnosis, he couldn’t move his thumb and it turned out he also had a fractured wrist.

He just finished his 3rd semester of nursing school with another A. He has been working with the caterer, but not overdoing it. (That was what revealed the wrist issue.)

Kylie seems marginally better lately, even without the anti-inflammatory meds. That’s promising! She’s such a sweet girl/old lady.
🤣

And my stores have not slowed down since Christmas!
Sounds like about 90% good news. Brian sounds like he will be a wonderful nurse. Bummer about the wrist, but it should heal quick. So glad that Kylie is doing a bit better, and yippy on your store sales!

My mom and I like watching the Hallmark channel. It is a family friendly channel of feel good stories. I was surprised when one of the movies on one afternoon was starring Meghan Markle ( before she met Harry ).

You should watch Suits. At least the first four or five seasons. It's amazing.

But this whole episode with Harry/Meghan vs the press vs the royal family makes me realize how much we don't need them. Sure, I'll watch Victoria and the Crown although the last season wasn't so amazing in my view but it's time to go.
