TX is not in the Salt Belt. The Salt Belt is from MN to ME, MO to VA. The Salt Belt states dump ( especially the NorthEast states ) so much salt on the roads to prep for inclement weather .
I got in touch with a college roommate who now lives outside Dallas and she said they apparently did pretreat the roads. Here in PA they do a brine solution. We are expecting some freezing rain today. Luckily our temps will not be as cold as some places around the country.

Some updates from here.

The Good:
Finally got Fiber 200/100Mbps internet on one line. My older line also got upgraded to fiber albeit at lower speeds. 30/10 in the other.
And I still have the older cable modem I want to ditch. Which is now sitting at 30/2 in the cable modem after the downgrade to pay less.
I will probably set later a router with dual wan load balancing to use all these and avoid just wasting them sitting doing nothing. Or just cancel the Cable.
Boss actually calmed down these days. Hopefully we wont be getting too much of his antics.
I'm almost all healed up after getting a strong case of salmonella last week x_x

The bad:
Still no decent job offer. Most just tell me the classic "found someone else, or your skill set are good but not what we're looking for" (aka, we found you're not in the USA or CAN area)
My uncle from USA just passed away today. He was terminal for a week and had no clue.
Sad that I could not meet face to face last trip.
I am so sorry Caesar. My condolences to you and your family.

Looks like Cracker Barrel. Hope your daughter is doing well. Mine has been pounded with work. She spent the whole weekend with the help of my husband doing chemistry and calculus homework. She was a bit stressed. Glad my husband could help her.
Exactly. My thought too. Cracker Barrel has good home comfort food. I knew someone who worked there a few years ago. They have an unwritten policy that if you asked for something to eat and do not have the means to pay for it, the manager would direct you to the back kitchen door and a sandwich would be made and given to you.

If you're trying to make any sense of it you are going to remain frustrated. It is just a fun thing that they do based on an ancient thought that a ground hog comes out to check if it is spring yet and when it sees it's shadow it goes back under ground to finish hibernating. It made no sense then and it still doesn't but it is something to help let us know that we are at least half way over winter.
Just a German tradition brought over with the early German settlers. It is just for fun like you said.

Happy Valentines day! We ordered Japanese food. We were going to do Chinese, then I saw @SteveBrickNJ 's pictures and it looked so good, I changed my mind and we ordered Tepanyaki instead. Well, DH ordered sushi. The steak was sooooo good.

Poor E is coughing and sneezing up a storm, and her throat is sore, but she doesn't have a fever. As long as she doesn't have a fever, I'm not sure I should have her tested again....I don't know. I hope the rest of us don't catch it though!
Sorry E isn’t feeling well. No fun having a cold.

I made a road trip last week. I drove to I-95 on I-64, then I-95 to I-40 and back to Raleigh. I51 miles just to get me out of the house. Never got out of the car, but it was a nice change of scenery.

Driving on I-95 always triggers nice memories of when we would take our family road trip to go from Vermont to WDW. Mostly on I-95. I always feel happy when on that road. I understand that it is hated by a lot of people, but I only associate it with happy times.
Same. I always look forward to the I-95 drive, but only once we get south of Richmond.

I used the Epcot recipe for the base, their recipe was not meant to have so much broth but I wanted it to stretch for more meals. I also didn't have enough of some of the ingredients so I added a little more teriyaki than it called for and I didn't have as much mirin either. But I did have at least a little of all the ingredients. I'm think the flavor will develop a little more as it sits, so lunch should be really good tomorrow.
You can mix honey with a bit of saki or white wine if you don't have mirin;)

It was Texas Roadhouse but I agree that it looks like Cracker B. Best wishes to your daughter and you as well.
