After most of yesterday in the hospital, he is home with two broken ribs. He is in pain, but still doing his schoolwork in bed today.

Thank God for airbags.
Oh! Thank God, it is only a few broken ribs!

Wow! How scary! I’m glad it wasn’t much worse for Brian. I mean the broken ribs is bad but not as bad considering how the car looks. I hope he has some good meds and heals quick. May I ask what happened?

Not sure if this affects you, but I do know biscuits are affected by altitude. We learned that in Montana 😂😂

If you're at a high altitude, this is a good read. If not, ignore me 😂😂

Oh yes, it definitely affects it. Most of the Netherlands is actually below sea level I think, because the Dutch actually "made" their land. That's what the dykes are for....they form a barrier to keep the water contained so there is more land. So much of the Netherlands is below the waterline.

Oh sorry. I was multi-tasking all day yesterday.
Yeah cook the chicken with the spices and water and/or broth. Then when you take out the chicken to cook and shred, you can add some more stock to put the dumplings in. The liquid will steam the dumplings. The dumplings will make the creaminess as they cook.
My Mom would sometimes put in carrots and celery with the chicken to cook. I like vegetables on the side instead of in the mixture itself.
I would experiment too. You can mix it up anyway you like.
It was really good, but I'm not sure I like the texture of the dumplings cooked in the broth, so I think next time, I'll make the soup mixture, then I'll transfer it to a baking pan and spoon the dumpling dough on top and bake it like my mom's recipe so they are golden brown like biscuits. My husband didn't like it at all, and I was kind of prepared for that, because he also doesn't really like chicken a la king...I think there's something about creamy chicken and bread mixture that he just doesn't like. I think he's not really a chicken person anyway. He doesn't really like baked chicken, he doesn't like fried chicken...he'll eat some things with chicken, like Alfredo, but he's more of a beef person. To each his own, I guess. E and I liked it a lot.
