I bought a crockpot last year and still haven't even opened the box. I have zero crock pot recipes, so I really want to get some! But Chicken and Dumplings was a favorite of mine growing up...my mom had a really simple recipe, but I can't use it because it involves pre-packaged things I can't get here. It was like...one can of chicken and rice soup and then top it with bisquick biscuit dough and bake it in the oven until the biscuits are done. But we don't have chicken and rice soup here, that I know of anyway...I'd have to look. And I know we don't have bisquick...there's no such thing as biscuits here. I can make them from scratch no problem, but I don't know if that would work. I might have to play with it. And I wonder if it could be done in a crock pot.
I have seen recipes for it, but have never tried one.

Not sure if this affects you, but I do know biscuits are affected by altitude. We learned that in Montana 😂😂

If you're at a high altitude, this is a good read. If not, ignore me 😂😂

Learned about some of this back in the day when I did the backpacking in the southern Rockies. Although, the only thing we ever “baked” was a peach cobbler in a Dutch oven at a few camps over 10 days. The rest was all freeze-dried stuff. But, the higher ya’ go, the lower the boiling point of water. At 7,500 ft. above sea level it’s about 198 degrees, instead of the usual about 212 around sea level...!!! :)

I've been at that altitude and higher also. Need good lung power and be in good shape to breathe that very thin air.

Indeed. I used to do a lot of runnin’ months before those trips, along with takin’ B12 to build up red blood cells.
One year we hiked to the summit of Wheeler Peak in New Mexico, at 13,159 ft. There was a time capsule at the top with a notebook in it that we all wrote messages in. That was a fun day...!!! :)

We just got moved into the 6-10 inch range for Thursday

My sub-zero temperatures are a bummer but there isn't anything to shovel with them. Stay safe!
