What? How can that be -- I was #10 on Tony's fan likes. Do you have a different mathematical system on Guernsey that is always 2 less than the rest of the world? 🤔
I thought you meant no.10 on the total likes list

When Mom and Pop bought the ‘70 Chevy Camper Special with the camper on it back in ‘71 in No Cal it came with chains, as the guy that owned it previously drove it into the snow-covered No Cal mountains a few times.
The first time my Pop actually got to use them was during those 3 snows we had here in Austin back in ‘85, that I’ve posted about before. His work was cancelled each time, so he drove around helpin’ folks pull their vehicles out of culverts, ditches, etc.
Obviously, a crazy sound those things make, especially when they start makin’ contact with sections of cleared road...!!!!! :hilarious:

I don't see them used often anymore, but chains are still legal in MA -- only in hazardous weather -- but they're not required either. (Exception to this is for triple-axle trucks which apparently are required to install one pair on opposite sets of wheels.)

Chains used to be seen on cars a lot more, years ago. (Problem was that they were starting to tear up the roads, so the state came up some sort of compromise for cars, and only for serious road conditions.)

At one point, I recall my father buying studded tires, and those are still legal in MA, but just on the REAR tires only (from November to April, I think it is). At present, I don't know anyone who uses them.

Believe it or not, I've never been to Olive Garden. (Runs and hides . . . :p )

I have seen photos of the food though, and at least it looks good. There are some locations in my state, but none near me. (Not to mention, we haven't been to any sit-down restaurant at all, since last February, even though some have limited indoor seating.)

Yep, even though folks are allowed to in limited numbers, none of us have dined out anywhere here since March.
But, all places have pickup/curbside/delivery, so there hasn’t been a real issue with those that have remained open/in business. Also, so far anyway, and very sad for those that have had to close permanently, none of our fave places are outta’ business.

Yes, less chains, but, still effective.

Yep, I know they’re illegal in many states now for that very reason.

Is that for rear tires only on rear-wheel-drive vehicles, but, also, they’re allowed on the front wheels only on front-wheel-drive vehicles...?!

Ha! You're asking me?! :p Heck, I only know what I read (see below). Come to think of it, I don't even know if my car is front or rear wheel drive! :joyfull:

Studded tires are permissible in Massachusetts between November 2 and April 30. The fine for violating this law is $50. Studded tires can be applied to just the rear. In Massachusetts, snow chains are not illegal during snow storms, nor are they required.

Yep, that’s as clear as mud...!!!!! :hilarious:;)
I’m thinkin’ that law may have been written before the existence of the Oldsmobile Toronado in ‘66...!!!!! :hilarious:

Because all my cooking stuff is old (except for my Instapot), I decided to buy a (6 quart) Dutch oven (cast iron with some sort of glass cooking surface in the pot). Didn't realize the price of cookware had increased (with tax it was around $75.00, but I wanted a solid one from Lodge). It can be used on any range top, and in the oven. Bought it at Target.

Cooking a pot roast now in oven, with potatoes, carrots and onions. Hopefully, it won't come out hideous. :hilarious: No guarantees! :p

Oh, while I was first browning the roast on the stovetop, I opened a cabinet and pulled out a pyrex measuring cup, and I dropped it. Broke into about a hundred pieces all over the floor. 🤦‍♀️ Then again, it's one less thing I have to wash now!
Good luck! DO NOT use metal utensils and only use a regular SPONGE or nonabrasive scrub pad on it.

The one place we like is just outside our travel perimeter but I hear there are lines around the block for curbside and they're doing well.

I'm in middle of snow storm right now. It originally was projected to be 6-9 inches, but it already passed it with is still snowing. My younger brother can't shovel or use the snowblower right now due to the 2nd dose of the vaccine he had. He was told not to do any shoveling or snowblowing this weekend.

Was it because of the vaccine that he can't do physical work? I hadn't heard that as being something not to do with the vaccine. Sorry you are getting the snow, we got a light dusting up here.

Since this weather is supposed to be a 36 hour event, my school district told all of us to teach from home tomorrow. As of 3:33pm my ongoing snowfall looks like this...View attachment 528379

I'm curious about the teach from home thing....were you told to prepare for this on Friday or during the weekend? What would happen if not all teachers or students had their supplies (laptops, etc) with them and left them at school? We haven't been told what would happen for us if there was a snowday or a looming snowday, but I could see students and our teachers not having what they need for a spur of the moment virtual day at home.
