So is 2021 all we expected it to be. Are things better yet?
Who knows....I haven't been out of my house in 2.5 days. Nothing was open yesterday, and my husband had to go out tonight anyway, so I sent him to the grocery store to get milk.

But I read in the news that two different teenaged boys (unrelated incidents) lost hands to illegal fireworks. So I'm thinking no....not better yet.

BTW, what did everyone get for Christmas...?!
I got the 5 Disney t-shirts I asked Santa for ;), plus the Bob Thomas Walt Disney biography (one of the few I hadn’t read - Neal Gabler’s was certainly extensive...!!!!! :hilarious:), and an iPhone 12 Max Pro. But, I’m still waitin’ on an OtterBox case to be delivered, so I’m still on my iPhone 8+.
Woe is me...!!!!! :( :D🤪:hilarious::rolleyes:;)

Oh, and there was more money, too...!!!!! :greedy::hilarious:
Some of the stuff was on not the Christmas list.

I got video game stuff, Clothes, gift cards, 3 different flavors of Frango chocolates, 3 different flavors of Door County Gourmet Cocoa, Cheshire cat ornament, and this:

I have till November for figuring where to put that Gingerbread castle. It was one of the items not on my Christmas list.

The only decorations taken down were my parents outdoor Christmas decorations. I helped my dad taking them down much earlier this week.

It will be a while before the indoor Christmas Decorations taken down. My Decorations get taken down in the 3rd or 4th week of January. A lot of effort was spent to put them up and want to spend as much time to keep them up for enjoying them. The trees are artificial and don't have to worry about issues coming up with the trees.

I put up Christmas decorations usually in late November/ early December.

I still have the Christmas tree up. Normally, I always take it down on New Year's Day, but it's so pretty and isn't dropping needles that much, so I'm keeping it up one more day. :)

We took the tree down yesterday and # 3 son's wife never saw a tree go up in flames. Put it the back yard (live out in the country) and put a match to it. It went up in flames like roman candle. She was shocked-- I told her that is why we are careful having it in the house no candles any where near it. Burn your house down in minutes.

Wasn’t expecting anything because B hasn’t been working. I think he spent his bday money on me because I got a new beach cruiser bicycle, some sudoku books & candy, Mickey candy dispenser, and Trivial Pursuit! ETA: and a TJ Max gift card, which I spent on candy & chips lol.

Cousin gave us one of those contraptions that cleans your cell phone of germs, I love that.

Employees gave me a cool baby Yoda and some Crown Vanilla. 😋

I gave myself lower credit card bills and a higher credit score, plus a buncha chase Disney rewards points!

All awesome gift stuff...!!!!!!! :joyfull:
Hopefully, B gets work soon...!!! :)
As bad as 2020 was, ultimately, many of us have much to be thankful for...!!! :)
We also treated ourselves to a new 50” TV (the old 37” from the living room is now in our bedroom), and it is almost too big...!!!!! :hilarious:
Not to get too sentimental, but, I remember when my folks only had one black rotary desk phone and about a 15” black and white TV...when Pop brought home our first color TV one evenin’, we were really livin’ high the hog...!!!!!!! :joyfull::hilarious:

Hubs and I watched the Ratatouille musical tonight and it was really fun to watch, a little strange at first because of how they filmed it (til tok/social media style). The music was fun and maybe someday it will evolve into a full Broadway show, but since there are any in person shows right now it was nice to see something new like this. Anyway, it lasts about an hour and it the minimum donation is $5, there are only a few days left to stream it.

I’m tagging a few of you that have expressed interest in musicals before, don’t mean to offend anyone if I don’t tag you as I think it is a good view for everyone. @StarWarsGirl @figmentfan423 @SteveBrickNJ @Trapper Wolf @MySmallWorldof4 @21stamps

let me know if you watch it. I’m interested in your thoughts.

Whatever one does don't ever put a real Christmas tree near a fireplace. The sparks from the fireplace burning wood can shoot out and light the tree on fire. The family only has minutes to escape disaster. There are some towns that have volunteer fire departments. They won't get to the fire as quickly. We instead have an artificial tree and or a nativity scene with the baby Jesus.

I'm always super careful with a real tree, and keep it watered daily. (Also I check the branches to see if the needles are rigid, or if they fall quickly when the branch is touched (a sure sign it's completely dried out).

Located in a city area, we cannot burn anything on properties. Instead, the city comes around on trash day during the first 2 weeks of January, and they have a "chipper" truck that eats ( :p) the discarded trees.

Saw a funny news report about a goat farm down on Cape Cod. Apparently, goats like eating dead Christmas trees; and (with the owner's permission, the locals just throw their discarded trees over a farm fence, and the goats have a feast! :joyfull:

I looked up Gatorade and can't find any news about dumping it? (Is this something going on down in your area, and if so, why?) Never drank much of it, but always keep it in the frig, if I need a boost of electrolytes.
I may be wrong but Gatorade dumping is when a football team wins a championship and the players dump an entire cooler of Gatorade on the coach's back?
