Yep two threes next to each other, we are thinking of adding another one to the other side next year. We are Christmas junkies and have a lot of ornaments and collect more each year. We just have to figure out another place for the nativity that is next to the main tree. I like having the nativity in a central spot so I have to do some brainstorming on that. Oh and there is another tree in the room too, in the "dining room" part of the living room (all connected in our house), that one has a beach theme, there are ornaments I put sand in from different beaches we've gone to.

I love everything about this. šŸ˜

I think a group of 3 would be absolutely gorgeous.

With the recent discussion about Christmas movies, it dawned on me that I haven't seen Mr. Magoo's Christmas Carol for at least a few years now. I used to like that one, too -- they also actually had some good songs in it. Did anyone else happen to notice if it was shown at all the past few weeks?
One of my absolute favorites, yes to the songs (ā€œIā€™m All Alone In The Worldā€) but havenā€™t seen it in a few years. ā˜¹ļø

I watched it last year. It was available on YouTube, as is Santa Clause is coming to town, and Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer.

It is ridiculously cold here in coastal SC 24 and the heat and air guys won't be here until Monday to put in the new unit. I have 2 small electric heaters going, fire in the fire places and have the oven on with the door open got the temp down stairs up to 67.
My daughter in laws parents have covid been about a week (got it from a sister who visited from NY) so far nothing more than flu symptoms, the grand mother (85) got it also and it looks more serious as she has other health issues.

Our furnace didn't work this morning, but luckily, the landlord was able to get his technician to come over very quickly. It's fixed now. Our outdoor temps will be down to 24 tonight as well, so it's good we were able to get the furnace fixed this morning.

As for you, that's lousey that you are still waiting until Monday. (I recall my mother years ago advising that everyone should keep an electric blanket on hand, for times when a furnace would break down.) I took mine out of the closet this morning, just in case. Before the repairman came, it was about 55 degrees inside. (We don't have a fireplace, or any space heaters.)

Sorry to hear about your daughter-in-law's parents and grandmother who have Covid. Hoping they all recover.

Glad they were able to get your heat back on

I understand how it is although I don't adding more Artificial Christmas trees. My bedroom for Christmas decorating tends get more each year. Door County does play a role in what I get for decorating in my room in terms of it getting bigger each year before 2020.

Door County has Christmas stuff that can be used for stand alone pieces, stuff under a tree, or added stuff to a Christmas village.

Space heaters can warm you up quickly. I've learned that when operating one, to prevent the risk of a fire, only plug the unit in a wall outlet and not in a multi plug unit.

Good to know, thank you.

(We actually never had any, because I know they can pose a fire hazard, if they get tipped over and connect with a rug, draperies, etc.) Where I used to work, management banned the use of them throughout the complex (there were buildings and/or certain floors, that heated better than others, so sometimes employees would bring them in). I recall one day that mgmt. sent out a warning email to everyone, giving them a day to remove them. Otherwise, maintenance would go office to office, and throw them out in the dumpster! :D

All electric space heaters (believe by law) have an auto shut off just incase they tip over. Yea they did the same thing where I worked had to remove all heaters but that was 10 years ago. I feel safe using the 2 I have going now without them we would be freezing. Hoping by tomorrow we will have heat again --they said they can install the new system in a day.

Murphy's Law applies again. The two or so coldest days of the year in this area and that's when the heat pump stops working. 2020's last dramatic memory, hopefully! For me, I seem to have the most issues on even numbered years. I'm not saying that there is any REAL connection, but fate had worked out that way for some reason. However, the worst have been even number 10 year intervals. 2000 became a divorce drama. 2010 I was recouping from my severed quad muscle for the beginning and watched my daughters and their families move 1000 miles from me. The only bright part was at the very end when I retired. 2020? No need to rehash this colossal heap of festering dog poop, do we?

Anyway, here's to the return of your personal warmth and a degree of calmness to follow.

Used mine at the foot of the bed for about an hour before bedtime last night to take the chill out of the room. Cant leave it on all night or I canā€™t hear the TV šŸ˜‚

Plus I have my heating pad as a back up!15FB3882-2F3B-46F2-9037-A41AC6771D02.jpeg

Overeat? No! Eat enough to fuel the military? Yup! The way it works in my family. First off, let me say how thankful I am that I only had two children. Thanksgiving, we all get together. Only nine of us total and well within the North Carolina's Covid guidelines of 10. Besides we see each other fairly regularly Everyone works at home anyway.

Moving on... They all like to stay home on Christmas, something I'm sure my girls learned from me because we always stayed home, however, we traditionally have a Christmas Eve get together that was started by my parents years before. So one food fest on Christmas Eve and on Christmas day I go to one about mid-morning for an intimate independent family gathering of present opening and noon dinner. (Turkey this year) and then about 4ish I go to the others for the same. (Prime Rib every time) In between there are chips, Shrimp, veggie platters, cookies, pies, deviled eggs and the list goes on. So in answer to your question, I basically had one huge variety packed meal starting at about 7pm Christmas Eve through 7pm Christmas Day. I probably would have had a snack after all that, but I'm trying to get my girlish figure back.

The one we have has an auto shut if tipped also. Hope your heat gets fixed asap. So freaky that it is so cold in SC. What are the odds your heat would die during this strange cold snap.

I hope all family members recover quickly from their illnesses.

I have 2 new models that look like fire places. Auto shut off for tipping over and over heating. I also have a new kerosene heater for extreme emergencies with all sorts of safety features.
