3 cups steel cut oats
Put in a processor a 2 cup combo of walnuts, pumpkin seeds, cashews. (Basically any nut you like) I have thrown in sesame seeds also.
Combine the nuts and oats in a big bowl.
Add 1 tsp cinnamon, 1/2 tsp salt, 2 TBL coconut oil, 1/2 cup almond butter, 1/2 cup maple syrup. Add chocolate chips if you want.
Combine it all and place on a parchment lined cookie sheet.
Bake for 1 hour 15 minutes at 300. When it is done let it cool for an hour. I then break it up and place it in a large ziploc bag.
Copied

Oldest child has been crocheting. She uses it to decompress from school. She has one more week until finals week. She is done with all essay writing and her labs. She just has a bio and chem final. Anyway, here is her latest creation. One is a huge bee that she made for a cousins birthday. The other is a work in progress, an octopus. Have to go to Hobby Lobby to get more yarn. The last picture is Gidget who fell asleep on some batting. View attachment 514292View attachment 514293View attachment 514295

How's Kylie? Are the meds helping now? And is Brian still in school right now? I'm so glad you got your Disney trip in when you did!!

So am I!

Kylie had a slow recovery but is at about 80% now. It was a good 2 days before she could walk after getting the shot, but we couldn't understand the coincidental limping. Brian wondered if they gave her the shot in her leg? (They take them out of the room to give them a shot sometimes.) She's limping a lot less now, but still not perfect. But she's back on nighttime walks and tail wagging. Really not ready for her to go anywhere just yet.

On the plus side - barely any scratching or licking. Even her "Whistle" (like a fitbit plus for dogs) has been notifying us that her scratching and licking have decreased significantly. So that's good. She's resting a lot, and I just get the sense she is healing all over.

Brian is in his second semester, still getting all A's.

Thanksgiving will be at cousin Tiffany's house, just the three of us, one friend, one Uncle (brother of B's late Dad.) We have all been tested this week just to be safe, and the friend and Uncle never leave the house. Brian is cooking the turkey, per usual - he is very good at it!

Because Black Friday wasn't enough (we will open at 8AM and my goal is to not have to leave Thanksgiving dinner to finish putting things together) we are hosting a record show this weekend.

There is a local record show every 3 months or so down here. For obvious reasons, April was canceled. August was canceled. When I heard November was canceled, I felt bad for the vendors who don't have stores - where are they selling stuff? They have to be taking a hit this year. Plus I saw a business opportunity.

With the blessing of the guy who runs that show (I hope I haven't told this story already) I approached one of my landlords about an empty unit. They let me rent it for a song (ha!) for the weekend. This still involved getting a rider on my insurance, paying the electric company 4 deposits (because this unit used to be 4 separate units and has 4 electric systems) renting tables, using extra payroll, etc.

Some vendors have canceled due to fears of COVID, but we still have a good showing. I have about 20 tables set up right now. COVID protocols are old hat for us. Just like the stores, we will have hand sanitizer and gloves at the door, we will monitor for social distancing and require masks, wipe things down and spray door handles regularly, and keep 1-2 doors open at all times, weather permitting.

Should be good! Of course, I'll be anxious we don't have enough vendors/attendees until they show up!

Plus regular business going on in the background!

I finally got a Haircut today. They raised the price from $10 to $15. I gave the girl a $20, and told her to keep the change. The salon was very empty when I arrived, and still empty when I left.
Here haircuts went from $14.00 to 20.00. Car wash went from 12.00 to 22.00. So what little hair I have left will just be longer and my car will just be dirtier. I even had to go out with some Windex and wash the inside of my own windshield. Man life is getting hard.

@ImperfectPixie @MinnieM123 @Tiggerish @TINKWINGS @figmentfan423 especially.

So far not good news for the back from the MRI, four bulging disks on L3, L4, L5 and S1. Between(ish) L5 and S1 I have a spinal hernia? Never heard of that before.

Meet with my spine doctor on Monday the 30th, Found out today from my regular doctor's posting on my health web page.

Oww.

I had something similar to that (L2 - 3 - 4 - 5). They tried everything medicine, spinals. Everything short of surgery. Nothing worked! Since I get my medical attention from The VA, I finally decided to try and talk them into referring me to a Chiropractor. Not something that any "medical" doctor likes to do, but since they didn't have a way to fix it, they gave in and referred me. It took a little while, about a year, but I am now just on once a month adjustments. Pain gone, ability to walk and stand for long periods without pain and given a new life. I had pretty much given up for a while there.

I'm 58 and have been going to the chiropractor for 30 years. It is a lifestyle for me that I recommend to anyone with back problems ( or various other issues) ;)
So glad you found it to be helpful @Goofyernmost .
Shame on me for not suggesting it to you!
