Poor thing! And this isn't the daughter who completely renovated the house? Did they get a new appliance or paint or something? When I was growing up, we had a little dog and one day he was barking his fool head off. We went back to find out what was going on and the inflatable Shamu that my brother had hanging from his ceiling had fallen and was on the floor. Completely freaked the dog out.
My daughter said that she doesn't remember changing anything at all. We were joking about maybe she sees "dead people".

Is there a possibility that the hospital will wave it? Did he not have insurance? When my mom passed, she had over $10,000 that wasn't covered by insurance. The insurance company wanted her to travel to California for bone scans because it was cheaper there. Yeah....THAT'S realistic. So they denied a lot of her claims for medical treatments that she really did need because it was too expensive in Wyoming. They would have paid for it if she had gone to California, but not when she got treated where she lived. The hospital waved all of those fees so we didn't have to pay them. I mean, what do they do if there's no kin to pay it off?
Everyone else eventually pays it at about the same rate that Medicare for all would cost. I'm glad that most people aren't in the field of accounting because their math skills totally suck. Hospitals make that up someplace and that means that prices go up for everyone else and that means that insurance premiums also increase. There are NO free rides unless you are a rich person.

@SteveBrickNJ , now that you and your students have experienced a few weeks of the new school schedule, how are things going?

You mentioned recently that your new schedule was exhausting (at least to start), and I was wondering if things have become any easier and less stressful, a few weeks now into the fall. I'm sure it's been challenging for your students as well.
How kind of you to think of me and ask. It is definitely better now. In late September I was teaching yet additionally: 1) still tweaking the schedule 2)answering parental emails and phone calls 3) chasing after parents how enrolled their child but never obtained an instrument
4) giving extra help sessions to new students who were struggling 5)creating Youtube tutorial videos for struggling students.
All that work paid off. Now ( for the most part ) many students are experiencing their 2nd or 3rd lesson and things will start to feel routine. Yesterday a flute student who had been struggling overcame her obstacles....something I said ( and my Youtube video ) clicked for her. She had success and I could see the joy on her face.
That's what its all about! Thanks again for asking :)

Yeah, there's a USPS tracking number, but it leads to a tracking number for a package that went to North Charleston, SC in August. Yeah, that's not right. So hopefully that means no handoff. Our post office is actually pretty good, but those handoffs are horrible.

It could be worse. It could be FedEx.
You are soooo right about FedEx! We were getting delivery notifications and there was nothing on the porch. Lost 4 shipments like that. Then all of a sudden someone else‘s package shows up on our porch. We have a county road address with a S and E. They transposed they first 2 numbers of the address and then transposed the S and the E, which put them on a completely different street. After we got 2 more shipments meant for the other folks, we knew where ours ended up. We were nice enough to return their packages to FedEx so they would get them. They on the other hand, kept ours.....

There's no stupid questions here;) Welcome aboard and link https://forums.wdwmagic.com/forums/new-member-introductions.103/
Thank You, I just deleted the original message last evening that had the link on it to the introduction thread and that left me scrambling. Luckily this thread was at the top of the new posts so I posted the questions there and go help from two very nice members. I was also a bit on the sleepy side when I joined last evening as it was rather late.

Yeah, FedEx is terrible. My company actually doesn't use them unless a customer or vendor requests it. They use UPS or other commercial shippers.

We've had issues because my dad likes to order Omaha Steaks. They used to use UPS and it was fine. Now, they lose orders, they get them to us too late (and since it's perishable, that's a problem) they misdeliver...it's awful. In the past I've had FedEx packages sent to my office so that they don't lose it. Now that I work from home, I either have them shipped to my dad at his office or I have them held at the grocery store because that's the only way it won't get misdelivered. Our neighbors, thankfully, are awesome about misdelivered packages. Usually that's where they end up, and then we all just complain about FedEx.

In the other hand, wouldnt it be a good idea to invest in a porch camera?
To see if the FEDEX guys are actually delivering and check if someone else is picking up the packages?

We’ve got a real long driveway - it’s about 500’ from the road to our porch and we’ve got fencing all around the property to keep the horses contained. I’ve also been working from home for most of the year - so I’m pretty sure it’s not porch pirates :)

WOW! I don't think our cousin has been that thorough. I think he only got back as far as my great-grandmother.
Great grandparents I already knew about. Had names and all. It helps that I still have two living grandparents. Actually, one of my great grandmothers lived until she was 95 and died when I was 13, so I have very clear memories of her.
