Disappointed to hear that your school administration is practically ignoring this situation -- and sort of dumping the whole thing in your lap, without any real assistance. This is not fair to you or to the student. I'm surprised that they could get away with this hands-off approach.

(I don't know what other avenues are available to you to request some backup assistance. Are there any kind of video education lessons in his language, for his grade level, that the administration could purchase for him? That might be an option.) Otherwise, I'd assume that it would be nearly impossible to have him move on up the next grade, with this classmates, at the end of the academic year.

Apparently there is some rule or law that unless there are 12 students in the same grade a English as a Second Language teacher doesn't have to be hired. If he qualified for Special Education or another disability he could qualify for at least getting a teaching aide assigned to him. That money comes from a different source of funding, so really it is our district skirting the laws and being cheap. Maybe as a staff we need to find a way to get him qualified. I have asked for help with purchasing resources but I get the "I'll get back to you" response and of course no one does.

We stayed at AoA in ‘12 in a Cars family suite with my 50% Disney CM discount, when it was actually priced like a value, and really loved the resort.
For our ‘13 trip we wanted to stay there again, but, the similar dates we wanted from the previous year were blocked out for CM discounts, and we weren’t willing to pay the substantial full-price increase from the year before. We ended up stayin’ in an ASMusic family suite with my discount, which we had stayed at twice before at that point, and it was perfectly fine. Yes, unfortunately, AoA is definitely not a value priced resort anymore, and hasn’t been for quite some time.
But, for next October we want to stay there for Emmy because of the big theming, and knowing we’ll probably be spending more time at the resort, plus the Skyliner. As Carolyn priced it out last night, it’ll be about $500 more than ASMusic for a 5-night stay for the entire trip. Not sure what prices will be like a year from now, of course, but, we’re willing to spend the extra since we don’t go all that often...! :)
I bet they come out with some nice discounts for next year. AoA is such a well themed resort; perfect for little ones.

I actually don't Sunday is always a cooking day for me;) Yesterday I got the last batch of dill pickles done. I don't care if through some miracle the farm market still has cucumbers next week I'm not buying except for salads. I wasn't going to make more but I got a deal on them that was too good to turn down and they're something I never seem to make enough of. Today's kitchen adventures adventure applesauce and roast stuffed winter squash
