Unsurvivable storm surge with large and destructive waves will cause catastrophic damage from Sea Rim State Park, Texas, to Intracoastal City, Louisiana, including Calcasieu and Sabine Lakes. This surge could penetrate up to 30 miles inland from the immediate coastline. #Laura

Sounds really scary.

It may hit as a Cat 5 peak gusts 180+ mph. I'm glad @donaldtoo is west of it!

Yep, looks like we aren’t even gonna’ get any rain from Laura.
Lil’ sis and her family live in Lafayette, LA.
They should be OK, but, it sounds like they’re gonna’ get buckets of rain.

All evacuee shelter hotel rooms here have been full since yesterday.
The CotA complex is being used as a “rest stop” before sending folks on to D/FW.
