In Honolulu Hawaii there are donuts called malasadas. When the Portuguese came to HI, they introduced it to the natives. It's a non hole fried donut injected with different favored creams of choice. It's very yummy. After that you go surfing and swimming to try to burn the calories off.

I guess this is the wrong time to say that we get them at work sometimes.

Steve is currently investigating the pop-up glitch today -- many of us are getting it on every page. Hopefully, he can get to the bottom of it.
I have no idea why this whole "he is getting to the bottom of it" reminds me of the joke of:

"A team of miners are expected to check the problems that the mine is facing. They promise to get to the bottom of it".

What a nice celebration for their ❤ 60th!

(And those ribs look delish! :hungry: )

I'm in awe of how all of you handle the heat down there, even though there appears to be some nice shade in the backyard. How is Emy in the intense heat -- does she slow down a bit, or does it not seem to affect her?

Thanks so very much, Minnie...!!! :)

The ribs were fall-off-the-bone tender and absolutely YUM-O-RAMA...!!!!!!!!!!! :hungry::happy:

Yep, it was still in the upper 90’s when we were there. We’re more than used to it after bein’ back in Texas for 43+ years.
No Cal was a much different scenario climate-wise. No humidididididity ;) to speak of and it rarely got above 90 in the summer for the 8 years we lived there from ‘68-‘76. People used to put on sweaters or light jackets in the evening even in the middle of summer, as the coolness would come off the ocean and over the mountains into the Santa Clara Valley.
Emy is fine in the Texas heat. She doesn’t seem to sweat much, doesn’t get fussy, and just keeps chuggin’ along...of course, Megan and Daniel always make sure she’s plenty hydrated too...She’s a little Texas Trooper...!!!!!!! :hilarious::inlove::happy:

I personally wouldn't, but it's up to you. I think the pool and the clean room are likely worth the price, and they did feed you which is way more than I would expect for that price in that area.
I wouldn't.

I did say something, but I was very polite. I didn’t really care about the dinner or cocktails, I knew we’d probably order pizza later anyway.. I just tried to pick a place with breakfast (or room service) to save time. It’s so much easier to eat at a hotel instead of dragging everyone out, then returning to the hotel.. plan was to swim for an hour in the morning before heading to the adventure park. We were in Middletown, Ohio.. which is mostly motels and not a large selection of hotels, definitely not any with room service that I saw. I found this one because it was one of two listed under “stay” on the adventure park’s website.

I went to the front desk when leaving, told them that myself and a few other guests had gone down at 9am for breakfast, but it was already closed. That I completely understand the extenuating circumstances with Covid.. but it would be wise not to have signage, and especially not to tell people at check in, that breakfast is served until 10am, if it is already over before 9am..more than a full hour early.

I don’t know if they’ll take the recommendation, but I’m sure there’s other parents like me who find it much easier to have a quick breakfast at the hotel.

I think, basically, it means that she wished the rest of the world tried half as hard as they are trying. The US is part of the rest of the world and as long as we are in the "thin the herd mentality" it is going to take a long time to fix this. We are a country of spoiled little children and we are displaying that to the world. It will be a long time before we are looked upon with any respect again. They may fear us, but they look at us like the lowest life form. It will take at least another generation of pristine behavior to get that respect back or to the support we once had. It's probably why there have been no reports of space aliens lately. They figured out we aren't worth the jet fuel (or whatever fuel they use).

I’m going to be so sore tomorrow. I went back and tried to complete the course again, as there were two that I never made across and instead had to swim after wiping out several times... still wiped out repeatedly, still didn’t make it across those 2. 🤣

One hilarious thing that happened- a little kid decided to sprint from the other direction while I was already running across a section, ran smack into me, sending me backwards off the tube step- I was hanging upside down.. T and his friend were just pointing and laughing.. the little kid just kept sprinting to the other side, and made it. 😂🤦‍♀️
Hopefully I don’t end up in a YouTube clip ;)

It was a great day.. but I know I’ll feel it in the morning.

I have rice in mine as well but it doesn't seem to be working. What I think part of the problem is that I have some industrial salt & pepper shakers. They are made of stainless steel and the metal will actually show water droplets on the top of it after just a few hours. I've never seen anything like that before. So far the salt inside is staying pretty good but when you use the shaker the salt sticks to the moisture around the openings like a Margarita.

pour some tequila in it and enjoy...!!!!! :D:hilarious:;):)

When my wife was pregnant for the first time, I had to reserve a parking spot for her at Dunkin Donuts. Luckily for some reason she didn't have the same cravings with the second one.

With Carolyn when she was expecting our first, Megan, it was Taco Bell...A LOT of Taco Bell...but, no distinct cravings with the next 2 kiddos (granted, she didn’t carry 1lb. 4oz. miracle son long before he was born), that I can remember...?!!! :cyclops:

@figmentfan423 , I made an apple pie a few days ago. (I only make one a year, because I don't like peeling and cutting up, a bunch of apples. I prefer working with berries -- much easier.)

So, that hideous task aside, I found some pre-made pie crusts from Pillsbury at the grocery store. :p They're so easy to use! :D

(Figgy, I know you can't have flour products for yourself, but I thought the pre-made ones might come in handy if you ever had to make a pie for dessert, if you had a guest over for dinner some day. It says on the box that they can be either refrigerated or frozen for future use.)
