2400 new covid cases in SC yesterday seems to be no let up. It has been hot and humid here in coastal SC expected Hight 96. Worked outside most of yesterday moving a load of dirt for my sons (putting in the drive way) future homesite about killed me. Today I'm staying inside heat index expected to be 107 and no rain. How has the heat been else where? Just looked at Orlando temps 93
Here in Raleigh it reached 97 degrees on my thermometer. With close to 90% humidity. Even with the AC running just about constantly I have not been able to get the inside temps to less then 74. Thankfully the ceiling fans help to negate the high humidity at least for me. My salt shakers are not doin' so well. When this finally lets up I am going to have to run my chunks of salt through a food blender to make it granules again. I know I can stop it by just purchasing a dehumidifier but I'm hoping someone close by will buy one so the same magical thing will happen and I won't have to spend the money.

The wife puts rice(uncooked of course) in the salt shakers supposed to keep the salt flowing in these times of humidity

Input, please..

We’re at a hotel.. it was only $150 for a night.. but we’re literally 20 minutes from home. The water park is 15 minutes from here.

The only reason I did this, was because of the storm yesterday, tried to do GWL instead, but they were completely sold out. I got online and looked for a hotel with an indoor pool.. found one that also had a dinner, cocktails, and breakfast included. Thought it was a great deal, so I quickly booked and we headed straight here.

Obviously there’s adjustments for Corona.. so the dinner is served instead of a buffet.. this is a good thing, but it also meant that there was no one to man the cocktail bar..that’s ok.. I can wait for a cocktail.. we ran to Kroger to get snacks and playing cards, came back and now bar is closed. Disappointed, but Not a huge deal. T’s friend didn’t like the food, so I ordered pizza.. this is not the hotel’s fault.

We woke up at 7:30am.. I went to the gym for about 20 minutes in the treadmill, the boys did push ups and sit-ups, then played cards... while I just relaxed with coffee. Breakfast is served from 7-10am... Neither T or I like to eat when we first wake up, T’s friend said the same, so we go down at 9am to eat- they’re out of food, an hour before the stop time.

Like I said, this is an inexpensive hotel.. but I seriously stayed here because I thought the small perks were worth it.. we could have just gone back to our house.

Do I say something, politely... or no? Not really looking for money back, but I don’t think they should advertise cocktails and breakfast hour if it’s not working.

I personally wouldn't, but it's up to you. I think the pool and the clean room are likely worth the price, and they did feed you which is way more than I would expect for that price in that area.

I have rice in mine as well but it doesn't seem to be working. What I think part of the problem is that I have some industrial salt & pepper shakers. They are made of stainless steel and the metal will actually show water droplets on the top of it after just a few hours. I've never seen anything like that before. So far the salt inside is staying pretty good but when you use the shaker the salt sticks to the moisture around the openings like a Margarita.

I wouldn't.
