Last official day of school was Friday!! Now we have 6 weeks of vacation...well, the kids do. I still have to work as does my husband. We wer talking about it today...do we want a vacation or not, but where would we go? With the distancing and reduced numbers allowed, where would we be able to actually do something? It would kind of be a waste of money to go anywhere just to stay in a hotel but not be able to do anything. And if we took the time off and didn't go anywhere, what would be the point? I would lose a week's worth of pay, and we couldn't do anything fun. I'd rather work for that week and save up the money for a trip when we can actually enjoy ourselves. But at least I don't have to get up early to make lunches for 6 weeks.

No, not much. I watched it off and on during its original run but have not seen any of the constantly broadcast reruns.
Rachel makes a "traditional" English trifle for Thanksgiving, but the pages of the cookbook get stuck together and she ends up making it with a layer of beef sauteed with peas and onions. The all have to pretend to think it's great so they don't hurt her feelings. You could probably look it up. "What's not to like? Custard....good! Jam...good! Meat...goooooooood!"

What a nice celebration for their ❤ 60th!

(And those ribs look delish! :hungry: )

I'm in awe of how all of you handle the heat down there, even though there appears to be some nice shade in the backyard. How is Emy in the intense heat -- does she slow down a bit, or does it not seem to affect her?

My daughter makes one of those Chocolate/Brownie ones for me on Fathers Day and Christmas. They are decadent but oh so worth the additional calories.

The US is not doing that good with this virus so I'm not sure what this comment means
I think, basically, it means that she wished the rest of the world tried half as hard as they are trying. The US is part of the rest of the world and as long as we are in the "thin the herd mentality" it is going to take a long time to fix this. We are a country of spoiled little children and we are displaying that to the world. It will be a long time before we are looked upon with any respect again. They may fear us, but they look at us like the lowest life form. It will take at least another generation of pristine behavior to get that respect back or to the support we once had. It's probably why there have been no reports of space aliens lately. They figured out we aren't worth the jet fuel (or whatever fuel they use).

Never saw one. (I glanced at the list and they're all on the other side of the state.) Dunks and Starbucks reign here.
Here in the land of Krispy Kreme, Dunkin Donut stores are cropping up everywhere. As I said the Krispy Kreme stores are few and far between and mostly sell in grocery stores on a simple display counters. We don't really need any Tim Hortons, eh!

2400 new covid cases in SC yesterday seems to be no let up. It has been hot and humid here in coastal SC expected Hight 96. Worked outside most of yesterday moving a load of dirt for my sons (putting in the drive way) future homesite about killed me. Today I'm staying inside heat index expected to be 107 and no rain. How has the heat been else where? Just looked at Orlando temps 93
