Ivory Tower Squabble EST 2011. WINDMILL SURVIVOR
Yep, I saw. They are getting flak about so much. Saw an article on Pennlive saying an autistic boy with asthma was denied entry because he could not wear a mask.
Really? Can’t wear a mask during a pandemic. Thinking Amusement parks are not the safest place to bring a child with breathing issues that can’t wear a mask. Speaking for myself I see it not being worth the gamble at this time. If the child did pick up Covid can you imagine the struggle with an oxogen mask instead?

Guy is a little annoying but here you go

Woof. Annoying indeed.
I clicked on it about 25 mins. ago. Watched part of the monorail beginning, got bored with that. Then, went to about 14 mins. in when they were walkin’ down MSUSA, got bored with that. Then went way further ahead to about the 2:22 mark. He was filming his popcorn he just bought up close and in focus, with everything else in the background completely out of focus, as he walked through Adventureland and out to in front of the castle. This took 5 mins.
He, obviously, has no gimbal for his phone to stabilize the picture, as it was bouncin’ all over the place in everything I watched.
Couldn’t take anymore.
Had to bail... :cyclops:

Good morning. Transformer across the street blew this morning, so no power right now. One advantage of living right across from the transformer is that when it blows it’s loud. So when you report the outage, you can tell them exactly which pole they need to come visit.

About 5 years ago, one blew (loudly!) on my street. Took the electrical repair crew all day just to get over here and look at it. Then they replaced it, and it didn't work! :p So, they had to bring in another one -- guy mentioned something about the insulation used to be copper or whatever, and the ones they were stuck with now did not have that, but some cheaper insulator that wasn't nearly as good.

They finished the repair (with the 2nd transformer) at 11 PM that night. 🤦‍♀️

This photo makes me want to puke. :(

This came up on FB. July 11, 2010.
T was born April 18, 2010.
Now, in July 2020, I am 26 lbs heavier than this pic. How does that even make sense?! 🤦‍♀️
It started about 2 years ago, I didn’t get a handle on it, now I’m officially the heaviest I’ve ever been.. I can’t even wear a tee shirt from last summer, they’re all too tight.
The worst part, it’s something that I have complete power to change, but just keep falling off the wagon. 😡
Maybe this pic will motivate me. I should not be heavier 10 years after a pregnancy, compared to not even 3 months after one!!!

I think you may have shared in a previous post (a long time ago), that you're tall, right? So considering how slim you were 25 pounds lighter, you probably don't look that much different with the extra weight on now. I'm only 5'5", so extra weight on a shorter person is more noticeable. (I should probably drop 20 pounds . . .)

That aside, I'm sure some of the pounds are covid lockdown weight. Seriously, everyone I know has put on at least 5 pounds or more, during 2020! ;) It is hard to get motivated during all this.

It was just during warmups, the game never officially started... so no batter. 😂 We had a 30 minutes delay 5 minutes before game start, then cancelled all together.
He’s really working on throwing a fast ball, also a curve ball, but he’s not getting that one, I told him to concentrate on regular pitches and fast balls, once mastered those then work on a curve... batters will be at less risk that way. 😂😂. He hasn’t hit a batter yet this year, I want it to continue on that trend!

We weren’t allowed to throw junk all through Little League. It was deemed potentially damaging to our underdeveloped arms.
Beyond Little League, all bets were off.
I knew how to throw a good curve ball by the time I was ten, but, never used it in a game. Others tried and were warned. The umps weren’t dolts.
I wasn’t tall, but, I used to release as high as I could with my fastball, and tried to get the ball in the lower portion of the strike zone. The trajectory worked well for fanning a lot of batters...it was as “junky” as I could get my fastball...!!!!! :hilarious: Obviously, I couldn’t throw it like that all the time, but, that was the best way I came up with to utilize the fastball.
And yes, the when you teach ‘em and when to let ‘em throw junk debate still goes on to this day... ⚾

Thanks, but the NYT has a paywall, so can't see it.

But, I'll take your word for whatever it is you're calling an example.

Although, I’m not sure this is the case with the monorail (the A/C coulda’ just been on the fritz), it would make some sense.
Let me try another one...

It was a bit of a culture shock for me being down there. Outside of Disney property, people just were not social distancing. Up here, you have to wear masks statewide if you're in any kind of commercial establishments unless you're eating, dining is primarily outdoors, indoor dining is at 50% capacity, and mentally, we're all just in the mode of social distancing. Down in SC, I was seeing packed restaurants and people not socially distancing in lines, and I'm like, WTH?
I think some parts of Wisconsin would cause you to do the same as SC did for you. Out of anything, some of the problems you already heard from other states already. The state is getting records of new cases.

Wisconsin's problem is the restrictions are not by the state government level at all.

The city I live in has problems with bars and beaches. There was a 25 percent indoor capacity rule, but the bar was wall to wall based pictures I seen online pictures with beaches and there was no social distancing along with not everyone wearing a mask.

I read a couple weeks ago that one of the water parks at the Wisconsin Dells had no social distancing.

It is up to the cities and counties in Wisconsin to make rules for masks and social distancing. There are problems of the current capacity rules being enforced and is resulting in new highs for the Coronavirus. Most of the state does not have mask mandates at all.

A prime example of counties and cities making their rules for capacity and masks is compare Dane County to Door County. Dane County has a mask mandate except for Restaurants, but Door County decided not have a mask mandate. Dane County is starting the mask mandate on Sunday. Dane county has the states 2nd highest county in Wisconsin for population. The catch is there is something needed to be done over a month ago.

People would figure there would be some type of a mask mandate for Door Door County because this is county that depends a lot on tourism. Door County gets around 2 million visitors a year despite there being less than 30,000 residents living in that county. Door County has a lot of family owned businesses, but each of them handle masks and Social distancing different for customers.

I’m only 2” taller than you, so not tall, but not short.
I have a small frame, and not curvy at all. I’ve always been I size 0/XS, and a 24 in jeans.. though I did switch to size 25 about 15 months ago. Now I’m not a size, seriously. That’s what’s so frustrating about this weight. Although my arms and legs did get a little bigger, it’s mostly my midsection.. and I’m still not curvy. How that translates into clothes- If I buy a bigger size pants, then they’re too big in the bum 🤣🤦‍♀️.. and if I buy a bigger shirt, then it doesn’t fit my shoulders and chest well. Which leaves me with no size- so, I’ve been wearing elastic waistband dress pants for the past couple of months, running leggings when I’m not at work.

I'm watching instead of doing work  not that I have a lot to do. Would love to be down there without a lot of people.

But the only part where I cringe at social distancing is the small character parades and the food.

edit: 3pm - OK work is over now.

PS - It baffles me people gives these guys money for the heck of it.

During the last 3:45 of the brother and sister duo AP Preview visit, I kept track of the donations.
I wrote down the totals for every 5 mins. (i.e. 4:35-4:39) so I could average it out later.
During that time period they received (I rounded the _ _ .97, _ _ .98, _ _ .99, etc. up) $1,123 in donations. I averaged that out over a 10 hr. period, as that seems about average-ish for them. At an average of $24.96 for every 5mins. that comes out to $2,995.20.
I also noted the donation pattern in parts of the other 2 streams/recordings I watched and there were no notable differences that I could see, even in the pre-Covid recording.
And, again today, the donations were piling up.
The vast majority of donations were between $0.99 and $10, but, there were also plenty of $25 and $50, and, over the 4 broadcasts, several $100, and even some $150, and at least one $200 that I saw.
But, what people do with their hard-earned money is none of my “bidness”. ;)
