It wouldn't surprise me about the BBQ being Heinz. The last time we ate I think there was only one BBQ option and I remember there being a couple options at the Flame Tree. And we both remarked that the sauce wasn't as good as it had been, so I think the Flame Tree might have edged out their signature sauce. But that was over two years ago now.
Its sad they are still finding ways to cheapen everything.
Its not like they had loses that could actually affect and force their decisions to cut costs so massively.

My neighbors went to Hershey Park on Friday. Their water park is open and of course no masks required there but the rest of the park requires masks. I didn't ask about how they were loading rides though. You do need a reservation to get in. Kings Island definitely looks dead in your pictures. My neighbor said Hershey Park was dead as well.

Speaking of openings...
I spent a good portion of my free time this week, since Tuesday at lunch, watching live (at lunch) and recorded WDW YouTube streams from a brother/sister duo.
They were there for the CM preview on Tuesday (invited by a CM friend), for the AP preview yesterday, and I also watched portions of a recorded live stream they did back on Leap Day
of this year. WDW closed about 12 days later. They will also be there tomorrow for the Grand Opening.
Such a stark difference between the Feb. stream and the 2 recent streams.
Crowds, of course, were waaayyyyy less. On both days I never saw one person without a mask, unless they had it down/off to eat or drink. Social/physical distancing was maintained (for the most part - I’ll address that in a bit). People distanced themselves, plus there were markers on the ground/floor in the queues.
Also, there were plexiglass partitions up in many queues...BTMR, Splash, Space, and even partitions on the seating of JC.
About every other table inside or outside for QS/CS is marked “Unavailable”.
Both days seemed to run pretty smooth.
Now, to the distancing issue I alluded to above.
They (the bro and sis, the CM friend, and her friend) went into the Emporium after the 7p close to do some shopping. After about 5 mins., the bro (who was streaming/recording at the time) said “I gotta’ get outta’ here.” and headed out to MSUSA. I wondered what took him so long.
Too many people in the store, many instances of improper distancing. All that good behavior during the day seemed to go out the window for too many at the end of it. The bro and sis met at Starbucks afterwards, and both expressed their concern.
There was also another thing that happened that was a bit disappointing, especially since this was a CM preview.
About mid morning the group decided to head to the Splash gift shop at the end of the ride to get some merch (mostly plush and pins). The rumor was, once they sold out there would be no more.
Everyone distanced nicely in the queue, and they were only allowing a certain number of people in the store at a time. All went fine, and they got the merch they wanted.
But, later when they were in line to ride Splash mid afternoon, one of their fans posted they saw a Br’er Bear plush on eBay for $250. Then, a few minutes later, another fan posted they saw one for $375.
I realize that, ultimately, CMs don’t have complete control over what their family or friends do in such cases, but, it was disappointing.
Also, I don’t know how anyone would believe the rumor that the merch they had Tuesday would be the last. The shop already had more yesterday.
With how long the ride will remain open as is, Disney Stands to make a ton of $$$$$ off those characters for quite some time.

Anyhoo, it’ll be interesting to see how the Grand Opening goes tomorrow.

@donaldtoo did you or anyone else ever amuse yourself by guessing who just posted? I selected "Threads you post on" and I saw that just past 7:30pm NYC time someone posted on the Chit Chat Forum. I said to myself:" I bet that was donaldtoo" ....then I smiled when I was correct. Sigh, these are the small things I take pleasure in when school is not in session.

Hahaaa...!!! :)
Actually, I’ve never used that feature. I always just use “Recent Posts” (?) on my work computer or hit the lightning button on my iPhone.

So that is why I haven’t had any before! Four liquors....nah! I would be incoherent! 🤣

Y’all know how much I love my beer, but, on all 3 of our cruises, Long Island Iced Tea has been my go to drink while on the boat...!!!!! :hungry:
It was the first drink I had on the lido deck the evening of our first sailing.
The bartender asked me what I wanted, and for some reason “Long Island Iced Tea” came out of my mouth. Completely random. Then she said “Let me make you one of my special ‘Strong’ Island Iced Teas!”, and the rest is family cruise history...!!!!! :hilarious::hungry:;):)

A forum member posted recently during the AP previews that the AC inside the monorails was off. Perhaps due to covid? That's not going to go over well with more guests using the monorail moving forward.

According to the weather people (and we all know they get things wrong). The other day, they were calling for 2 inches of rain. But now, it's really not doing anything. Most rain, no thunder, is coming from 10 - midnight with periodic rain til 4am.

Whatever weather system passed over here last night, I slept through the whole thing! :p (I think the worst of it, though, was out at the western MA/NY border area, and far away from where I live.) That aside, I noticed the dog was sleeping on the rug in the bedroom this morning when I got up -- he does that if he's freaked out by weather.

I made some chocolate chip cookies today using almond flour. The texture is obviously different but it still tastes like a chocolate chip cookie so it satisfied my craving for cookies. And they are soft which is how I like my cookies.

Curious -- why almond flour? (Duh--I never even knew there was almond flour. ;)) I'm assuming that aside of texture, the actual flavor of the cookie was the same as with white flour?

Almond flour has less carbs than regular flour. I had bought a big bag to try awhile ago and decided to try the recipe. The taste overall was similar to a regular cookie with a touch of almond. I’ve also used the almond flour to make pizza crust and that was decent.

Same here. It was a bust. Unfortunate because we need rain.

Had they been on every car of the trains? Is this verified as being a new monorail practice or just a random happening?

I am going paint shopping today. My grandson is doing a full cleaning of his apartment in the attic. He wants to adopt a new dog in the near future. I hope the Chicago temperatures get lower soon. Of course, he does have AC, but because they are painting, he is going to want to open a few windows sometime during the painting process. I am just glad my grandson is finally offering to do some work.

Youngest is having a blast at her new gym. She went to open gym last night. 3 of her new teammates showed up. They are all 9 years old. We were able to watch a little as they tumbled their little hearts out. They came out at 8 and youngest comes to me and says that her new little friends want a sleepover at our house. I said sure of course. The kids thought I meant they could sleep over last night. When I realized that I was like, um not tonight. I need a little bit of notice. The parents were laughing because apparently this is the norm. The kids connive together about going to each others houses and which parents to con. The kids have been so welcoming to my youngest and it just really makes me happy. We definitely didn't see this at her other gym.

I also make them with almond flour. The texture is definitely different but the taste is delicious. I found sugar and dairy free chocolate chips on Amazon and use those to put in cookies.
