I’m almost positive that T’s toe is broken. He’s now sleeping.. which is strange, but I think between the activities of the past week, combined with ice on his foot, may have just worn him down. I’m really glad the game was cancelled.

Better an injured toe than a broken arm or leg!

Wait, let me add an edit. I’m not 100% positive and don’t want to jinx him. There’s a possibility that it could just be sprained, and the nail coming off will be the worst of it. Either way, I’m glad it was a toe that got hurt when he slipped, not something worse.

Hopefully you've done this by now, but tape it to the toe next to it so it's immobilized. That's what they'll do in the hospital.

T may or may not have broken his toe while at the pool today. We’re not sure. It’s swollen, black and blue, and the nail will for sure fall off.

He soaked it in a bucket of ice water for half an hour, then an ice pack for another hour while on the sofa, then an ice bucket again.
Said he still wanted to play in his baseball game tonight. He’s semi limping, but did run. I said I’ll allow it.

Get to the game, warm up, he’s pitching bullets.. Then thunder and lightening come. We get put on a half hour delay and go to car.
Now just received a text that game is cancelled, hopefully rescheduled for Thursday. I think this worked out in our favor!
I’m not letting him go to soccer tomorrow if it still hurts as bad as now.

Pitching bullets. Hope no one got hurt or killed. :hilarious:

I was in the same situation. Like.... I hate sewing anyway and broke the thing but kept it. On one of the last purges though I gave it away to a friend who could fix it up for her daughter. I can tell you just not having it in my house was a weight off my shoulders. Like sitting in the closet it was a to do task, and a thing I couldn't use because I haven't fixed it, and then even if it was fixed I didn't enjoy using it LOL.

I also purged a blanket I've been knitting for the last 20 years. Like, if I haven't finished it in 20 years it's not getting finished

I recently framed up a bunch of stuff and one of the things I framed up was a print of Cinderella castle. The print was from the 25th anniversary of WDW and since WDW is going to be 50 in 2021 that is a lot of procrastination on my part! HAHA!

Perhaps you should take him to the doctor? I know they can't do much for a toe, but then at least you'd know whether or not it's broken. If it is, he probably shouldn't be doing sports...it could permanently damage it.
A broke his big toe when he was 4 or maybe just barely turned 5. They taped it up and told me to let him walk on it, but no PE or sports for I want to say a week or two?
Do you think he might need an x-ray, to see if the bone is broken? I (think) sometimes they put some sort of splint on a broken toe -- to make sure it heals straight.

I hope T isn't in any pain this morning. (If so, do you have a walk-in clinic nearby, that you could take him in, even before work today? Just a thought only, if he's in pain.)

One of the benefits of having a sister and bro in law who are both in orthopedics, is that I have quick access to in person or telehealth visits.lol. Doesn’t mean that we don’t still have to make an appointment somewhere else, but little things I get their advice if I don’t know.
They are in Florida right now, so we face timed his toe.. it’s a middle toe, not the big one.. he could walk and move it, so we didn’t think it was broken. After the ice I taped 2 toes together. He put on his baseball cleats and had a slight limp, but said he could play.

After the game was cancelled and we got home, it was really swollen again and I really feared it was broken, planned on an X-ray today if looked as bad when he woke up. Last night he soaked in an ice bucket again. It was elevated all night, and I changed out ice packs while he was sleeping, until about 1am. Looks soooo much better today! Just a little swollen, nothing like yesterday. It hurts, but he can move it. Facetimed sis and bro in law again this morning, none of us think it’s worth the X-ray at this point. He’s taking off soccer today, no pool either, continuing with intermittent ice and elevation.. and hopefully just some soreness left after.

I don’t think he’ll run at the pool again. Learned there’s a reason why the lifeguards have that rule. I’m just so glad that it wasn’t an arm, leg, or his head. I’m also glad the baseball game was cancelled last night, it’s rescheduled for Thursday.

It was just during warmups, the game never officially started... so no batter. 😂 We had a 30 minutes delay 5 minutes before game start, then cancelled all together.
He’s really working on throwing a fast ball, also a curve ball, but he’s not getting that one, I told him to concentrate on regular pitches and fast balls, once mastered those then work on a curve... batters will be at less risk that way. 😂😂. He hasn’t hit a batter yet this year, I want it to continue on that trend!

Some Covid humor

Reminder : 9pm is the time to remove your day pajamas and put on your night pajamas on

If the schools are closed for too long the parents are going to find a vaccine before the scientists

Even during an emergency no one wants vegan food!

When we all come out of this we are going to be overweight, alcoholics, divorced, or pregnant

Like a good neighbor... Stay over there!
I have to correct the vegan part. I made 8 quarts of vegan stir fry yesterday and a whole lot of it has already been eaten and my dh vac sealed a few lunches for work and there isn't a whole lot left for me:(

I wouldn't make it that far. I went from my beach chair (which sat upright) to my brother's chair (which you can lay down) like...

Do you feel lighter? E is finally to the point that her hair is driving her nuts and she wants to have it cut off. (shoulder length) She measured and if she cuts it to shoulder length, she'll have 44.5 centimeters to donate. But she promised a friend of hers ages ago that she could curl and style her hair sometime before she chopped it, and then corona happened. So now she's all ready to chop it, but wants to keep her promise to her friend.

Definitely feel a bit lighter, and less tangly!

Can she call her friend and tell her she really wants to cut it?
