I heard South Carolina is pretty much opened up. Maybe take a day trip to go live among the normal. :hilarious: We drove to West Virginia on Saturday and we saw most of the restaurants were packed. There was a Blaze but it was takeout only.
Oh that will be fun! We pretty much have stayed at home and not ventured anywhere but the parkway. That reminds me, I will put up some pix.

Got three cats here. One is under 3 pounds, one is 9 pounds, and one is 16 pounds. So, I'm willing to consider wagering that I might have both the heaviest and lightest cats around these parts.

The 3 pounder is an 18 year old long hair. She's never been more than 4 pounds and at times was right at 2 pounds. Not nearly as small as you'd think. She's also totally deaf and starting to have vision issues, but amazingly still has a lot of energy and loves to chase shadows and self-pet on my feet.

The other two are from the same litter and are somewhat inseparable. The 9 pounder was the runt of the litter. She's extremely curious and very skittish. The 16 pounder is... well, unique. She's our daughter's cat more than the others and will sit with her at any time and anywhere. Lies on her back and lets just about anyone rub her stomach.

And now you know the whole family. :)
I don't think you've been around since I got Jasmine. Anyway, this is Jasmine. Jasmine came from a litter of 10. Jasmine's favorite thing to do it eat. Jasmine is on weight control food and runs around the house like a nut. It hasn't helped.

These were taken on the Blue Ridge Parkway. We saw a baby bear on the side of the road, but it ran off before I could get a picture. View attachment 475886View attachment 475888View attachment 475889View attachment 475891View attachment 475892View attachment 475893

Beautiful!!! I wouldn’t mind seeing a bear from my car, as long as it was nowhere near where we were hiking. 😂

@epcotisbest Is this where I was lost? Those roads look a lot bigger than what I was on.

Our legislature voted and bilaterally passed a resolution to end the governor's emergency order on Tuesday. The governor is taking it to court. The legislators say everything can now open up as long as CDC guidelines are followed. The public though is so confused. On one hand you have the governor ripping up the resolution basically mocking the legislature, and on the other you have the legislators telling businesses to open and for people to go about their business again. My guess is the town supervisors will most likely side with the governor and wait everything out which will take months and therefore til after summer.
I more like living here because the governor and legislature have figured out how to put aside political differences and work out how to keep everyone safe. The only major debacle we've had here was that the unemployment website failed. And then heads rolled and it got fixed. PA...I kind of feel like this is par for the course. Every time I deal with them or one of my relatives does, the difference between how Maryland does stuff and PA does is like night and day.

My grandma has suggested to me before that I move over the PA line and commute down to Maryland for work since it's cheaper to live in PA, and I'm like, nope, nope, I'm good, I'll save a bit more money and live in Maryland, thanks.

No offense to you, obviously, and there are some lovely areas in PA; I just prefer to live in Maryland.

Our house is about 5 miles from the PA border (on the MD side), so we tend to watch both sides pretty closely. Yeah, the difference in dealing with this issue has been staggering. I really hate political ing matches, especially when the actual issue ceases to really have a bearing on the arguments taking place... so sad that so much of our government has forgotten how to compromise. I've definitely been proud of the Maryland State government's ability to work together. Okay, better bail out before going to political!!

Cats are so cute if they didn't make my nose do crazy things and my throat close up. She is a big girl that is for sure.

No, I hadn't met her yet! Our big girl, Patty, is right in front of me now in the same pose. I'll try to grab a picture at some point to share.

@StarWarsGirl or @MySmallWorldof4 , have you heard anything about Hershey Park yet?

I still can’t imagine what’s Kings Island is going to be like. I’m picturing misery. :(

Last year was the first time in about 10 years that we didn't have Hersheypark annual passes, but we are still on their mailing list. As of 5/29, they announced that they are planning to open in July. They had said mid-June at one point, but pushed things back. Also said 'if permitted by the state' in their statement on 5/29 and given what has gone on over the past few days, who knows what is going to be permitted and when!!

What he said. Given this is PA, who knows.

Did they extend their passes thru 2021?

I’m so glad that KI is reopening.. but I doubt we’ll go too often this year. There’s many times when we just go for an hour or 2 in the evenings. That will be impossible now with the new reservation system.

I still don’t know what they’re doing about Fast Lane. If queues are already reduced, and ride seating reduced, then how is fast lane going to play into that? I’m hoping we get an email soon.

Hersheypark has extended all 2020 passes through June 30, 2021. The issue is that since they are seasonal passes, this is really of little benefit to anyone who regularly buys them. Unless you just plan to visit during the first half of the season next year.

I think everyone with any kind of amusement/theme park plans is quite impatiently waiting for those informative emails!!!

Wow. Cedar Fair extended ours all the way thru 12/31/2021.

They’ve been good about communication, but as far as the Fast Lane thing, my guess is that they’re still trying to figure it out.. and that’s why we haven’t received anything.

Update from soccer camp-

A1D81502-ED26-4D76-B005-4D37347225FC.jpeg

On top of this, only 9 kids per camp.. which means since our early June camps were cancelled, I’m on a waiting list for July.

These poor trainers though.. the camps are 9am-3pm. I can not imagine wearing a mask during the height of summer, while running to exhibit soccer skills.

I feel I should explain my statement of not having a career path..

I did have some path as my major in College was Business Management. That is a general catch all and really isn't a definable career.
While in college I drove a delivery truck for a hospital supply company part time....
After college (in fact the day after) I was in the Air Force with an Inventory Management Specialist title.
Even with that I learned how to operate front end loaders and fork lifts of all shapes and sizes.
I got exposure to the early days of computers when the computer filled a 20 x 20 room and the hard drive weighed 300 pounds of polished metal. At least that is what I think it was made of.
After college I became the Manager of a Ben Franklin Variety Store for a couple of years.
Then I went into publishing of a shopping newspaper, which in turn became a webb printing business for quite a few years until I go bored. (14+ years) While there I learned how to do graphic arts, offset Photo's (with halftones), press plates, operate printing presses that could print up to 48 pages of tabloids with full color shopping circulars and news papers as well as publishing a number of misc. things.
Somewhere after that I owned and operated a Residential Care home taking care of Elderly, Mentally and physically challenged and mentally ill people providing room and board, laundry service and basically maid service along with Transportation to appointments. That is an occupation where the burn out can come quite quick. I think about another 14 years.
Following that I actually went into Accounting for two different construction companies over another few years, Not both at the same time.
Since it actually didn't take very long to get bored with that I made yet another major change and decided to get out of management. I got a CDL and found a job as a municipal bus driver which got old surprisingly quickly so after a few years I remained in the busing business but in a field management position.
Right now I am doing my favorite career which consists of being retired and playing golf. My favorite to this point.
There were a few odds and ends like a Temporary job with IBM working the line creating computer chips. Perhaps that is why those masks don't bother me. I worked in a clean room with every inch of my body covered with special clothing, booties, hoods with masks and rubber gloves. No choice of whether or not you would wear them. 🙂 Moral of the story... you don't need to have a specific target to get through life. I was always learning something new and I enjoyed that, but I tend to get bored with stuff quickly.

Funny, other than my HS gig at the go kart track, and my 4+ year recession stint in retail (including the Disney Store, Batteries+, Calendar Club, Kay Jewelers, and the men's clothing store), I have only ever been in my architecture career since 1980.
Still not sure if this is my last career, even after all these years in architecture, as there are many other things out there that interest me.
The problem bein' findin' somethin' else I would really be interested in and enjoy career-wise that still pays the bills...!!!!! :greedy::hilarious:

Just maintain focus and don't let yourself give up on quality goals. I was part of the Woodstock, hippy, never trust anyone over 35 generation and we have screwed things up worse than any previous generation over the last 100 years. I'm thinking that I will not live long enough to see what we messed up corrected, but I am hoping my children/grandchildren, etc. do.

Looks like you and her are takin' enough blame for your two generations, so I don't need to take any for mine...mighty nice of y'all...!!!!! :cautious::D:hilarious:;)
