At my school there are two types of days when you miss. It is either an excused absence like if you have a doctors note or an unexcused absence like if I would go on Senior skip out day or if my parents take me to WDW for the day.
We had what was called senior day where seniors were not required to be in school. Cut out making phone calls;) I guess the problem was the parents knew what day it was so they could have restricted your movement if they wanted to.

@StarWarsGirl you should be sooooo proud of yourself. That is something you can tell your kids and grandkids. I am also in the choir at school, but really I chose it to get the credit more than anything. I can hold a tune and I don't sound awful or anything, but I don't have a strong voice at all. I am an alto. It is actually one of the classes I do enjoy and I do like the Holiday and Spring performances we do even though we didn't have the Spring one this past year.
I actually just did another virtual choir with this same composer (video isn't out yet). It was fun to check the box on my profile saying I'd been in this one...and then bring it up at random on the Facebook group for it. 😂

I would be bringing it up all the time. My biggest accomplishment in life is when I was 14 I played the Sugar Plum Fairy in The Nutcracker for a kids theater. Nothing like being in a Disney show.

I live only 30 minutes away from WDW and Universal so on these days I guess the Seniors go crazy in those parks. I will find out not this upcoming year but in 2022.

Four of us Senior girls skipped a day in late spring . None of us had ever done such a rebellious thing! We went to a local state park to lounge on the beach. A photographer from the newspaper was there and asked if he could take our picture. He “posed” us applying sunscreen to each other’s backs as we sat on a blanket.

It didn’t occur to any of us that the picture would appear in that evening’s paper. The next day was a school day.

We were busted!
That is priceless!🤣🤣

See, though the issue is that if people know you can do something, they expect you to do it. Too many people know I can sing, and then I get asked to do it, and then I don't always want to do it. It's like how I made a brief note on my resume for work that I speak Spanish, and they mentioned it at my interview but we haven't brought it up since. Now I don't have to speak Spanish at work, even though I can. 😂

In the age of social media and texting, I would have been afraid something would have gotten out and my mom would have found out and life would not have been worth living.

Of course my parents pulled me out for WDW so I had no reason to just randomly skip.

That is a great point. I took German I & II my Freshman and Sophomore year. My Sophomore year the first half was a review of German 1 and the 2nd half of the year I had to learn it online which I learned nothing. So can I speak it or read it, no. Those two classes were total wastes. Oh well I got the credits. I do love dance, but wouldn't want to dance on command so I see your point. I also love Cheerleading but it is a hobby and that is it.

Not at all this summer? Or is it possible for the governor to allow it later on?
Our legislature voted and bilaterally passed a resolution to end the governor's emergency order on Tuesday. The governor is taking it to court. The legislators say everything can now open up as long as CDC guidelines are followed. The public though is so confused. On one hand you have the governor ripping up the resolution basically mocking the legislature, and on the other you have the legislators telling businesses to open and for people to go about their business again. My guess is the town supervisors will most likely side with the governor and wait everything out which will take months and therefore til after summer.

I'm so glad I don't live in PA.

I heard South Carolina is pretty much opened up. Maybe take a day trip to go live among the normal. :hilarious: We drove to West Virginia on Saturday and we saw most of the restaurants were packed. There was a Blaze but it was takeout only.
That's why we're thinking of going to Hilton Head. Although Maryland is opening back up. Restaurants are going to be able to open at 50% capacity for indoor dining starting Friday, and then next week gyms and small businesses. I have to read the full announcement from the governor.

I feel so bad for you, and anyone who lives in a state like this. DeWine is strict, we have many rules, playgrounds are not yet open- but will be soon. Most summer camps are not coming back.
But if you look at traffic and parking lots in shopping areas, you would think that life is back to normal.

We thought about going to Maryland to eat but the restaurants we checked out still said there was no in restaurant dining.
I more like living here because the governor and legislature have figured out how to put aside political differences and work out how to keep everyone safe. The only major debacle we've had here was that the unemployment website failed. And then heads rolled and it got fixed. PA...I kind of feel like this is par for the course. Every time I deal with them or one of my relatives does, the difference between how Maryland does stuff and PA does is like night and day.

My grandma has suggested to me before that I move over the PA line and commute down to Maryland for work since it's cheaper to live in PA, and I'm like, nope, nope, I'm good, I'll save a bit more money and live in Maryland, thanks.

No offense to you, obviously, and there are some lovely areas in PA; I just prefer to live in Maryland.
