Ha! Life in the United States..........:joyfull:

Woman was removed from an airplane at Chicago Midway Airport after she poked a seatmate with a pen to stop him from snoring Thursday afternoon, according to an airline spokeswoman. No injuries were reported.

The flight left soon after the passenger was removed and woman “will be accommodated on a later flight,” according to the statement. :cyclops:

because it pretty much buries itself in your brain and can keep repeating itself in loops for DAYS.

I do not like these kind of songs honestly.. Imagine trying to sleep and you keep hearing in your brain that song again and again and again..

I think the song is cute and adorable, and just perfect for the attraction it's in. However, I completely agree with you that if I had to hear it for hours on end (as the CMs in that ride do every day), it would drive me crazy at that point. Repetitive music isn't any fun.

Our morning in Aruba started out great, mid 80s and sunshine and room service arrived on time. We had just sat down to eat breakfast when "Medical crew to Deck 11, medical crew to deck 11." went out over the P.A. I assured my daughter that perhaps someone had fallen because it had been foggy and the floor may have been slick. :( (I found it amazing the amount of people that didn't pay attention to "floor may be slippery when wet". )

A short time later we went to the elevators to leave for our day. The ship's captain and a few crew were forming a blockade around the nearby stairwell and telling everyone to clear the area. Not more than a minute later they brought down a lady strapped to a backboard with oxygen and an IV. Another passenger had mentioned she had a heart attack. Unfortunately the only way they could get her to the medical area on deck zero was to carry her down the stairs, eleven floors.

Our shore excursion was a motorcoach tour of the island (Aruba is only 20 miles long, 6 miles wide) and a swim. It was a fun time but a three hour bus ride that had us thinking much of the island looks the same. Our first stop was Casibari Rock Formations where you could climb these giant boulders and see most of the island. Being 9 a.m. and 90* already, we passed. :D The next stop was the Aruba Natural Bridge....or former bridge. It collapsed in 2005 but we could walk up to the barrier and see where it had been.

View attachment 90029 Our next stop was the California Lighthouse. o_O California? In 1891 the steamship California didn't know Aruba was there and ran aground. As our driver told us, the people of his country like to take their time with everything and the lighthouse was built in....1916 and took them three years to build it. :cyclops: Near the base of the lighthouse were local vendors selling fresh cut coconut drinks and assorted trinkets and snacks.

Our final stop was Eagle Beach, a public beach not far from the cruise port. It was a pretty place with trees for shade except.....during Holy Week in Aruba, families come out in droves and pitch tents and minicampers on the beach. It was very crowded with natives. We still had a good time and everyone was nice. I must admit though with so many people I was ready to head back to the ship. :)

I'm trying to figure out how they don't have elevators that would go to the highest deck, down to the bottom. That poor woman had to be carried down 11 flights?

As for your jaunt over to Aruba, that sounded like fun. (I've also been to Aruba and Bonaire in the Dutch Netherlands Antilles. I didn't get to Curacao, but at least you and your daughter got to visit that one as well.) I visited Aruba prior to 2000, so I was able to see the Aruba Natural Bridge; wish it was still intact for your visit. Glad you had such a nice island tour, though. It's an interesting place. (Back when I visited, they also had a number of hotels with casino gambling, too.) Did you also enjoy seeing the colorful buildings on the main streets of Oranjestad? I liked the pink and blue tones--the colors reminded me of houses in Bermuda, actually. :)

I'm thinking this cruising thing sounds awesome.
Sadly, Hubby is still attached to the one week/one resort/all inclusive gig.

Both DWifey and I are on the same page when it comes to wantin' to do the cruise thing.
Especially since oldest DD and SIL enjoyed their DCL honeymoon cruise so much. They had one of the large stern veranda suites.
We've never done one, either. Hopefully in the next coupla' years. :)

The only one that I would be wary of is Biergarten. If you've been there before and liked it, go for it. But we hated it the one time we were there. There are better Epcot options (Chefs de France would be my choice). I'm also not sure the Fantasmic dinner package is worth it. They tend to have FPs for Fantasmic left over, so you'd be better off using your three and then grabbing a Fantasmic FP. Mama Melrose's also tends to be hit or miss. Can you get into Prime Time? That one tends to be better IMO. Probably best DHS table service.

I really like the Biergarten. I like going for dinner because I like the sauerbraten (beef roast) that is only served at dinner. But I don't like their desserts at all, but that is okay because I fill up on the sauerbraten, cheesy spatzel, and beer. The best part of the Biergarten is the band. We made the mistake once of booking lunch super early only to find out that the band didn't start until after 1-1:30. We made that a super long lunch because I wanted to see the band! I guess that is my German heritage. I also love the Prime Time too.

What are we having with the paprika chicken, by the way? :hungry: (Oh, sorry . . . I didn't mean to invite myself over for dinner . . . :cautious: :D )

You're always welcome! In the paprika chicken is sliced carrot, onion and obviously chicken and it is served over a hearty portion of rice and then dinner yeast rolls. Yummy. Taught to me by my Gran.

time to expand the road to a 4 lane per side?

Unfortunately, many bridges/overpasses would have to be widened, as well as the roadbed. And, they can't go to the median, 'cause they've already lengthened and made turn lanes two lanes wide in many places. The only way they could do it would be to somehow widen the bridges and then blast out more of the limestone cliffs that you saw in that pic in many more places. Not gonna' happen anytime soon.

Widening this bridge would be a huge undertaking with all the traffic that uses it every day...

Am I the only weird person who insists on having the same hygienist on every dentist trip?

The only time I didn't have the one I liked was when she was on maternity leave. This other hygienist pressed so hard with the floss that she made my gums bleed. I floss regularly and don't have that happen. Then she said that I had gingivitis. Dentist did not agree. My teeth hurt so badly afterward that I decided that I'm only booking with the same one I've always had until I move to Florida. For procedures I don't care since I'll be sore either way, but for cleanings, I will only book the appointment with the same hygienist who has been cleaning my teeth since I was 6. Yup.

I usually get the same one too, but my dentist had to reschedule my appointment (not my choice) and this was my only soonest option. Luckily this girl and I had gotten along in high school so she wasn't up to taking out some vendetta, and she did a good job.
