I know how the not feeling excited feels... suppose to be going to Vegas for my birthday in September, but since this all started, with all the weird uncertainty, I'm having trouble still being excited.
I can't blame you. On the one hand, you want to believe it will happen, on the other, you don't want to get your hopes up in case it doesn't....it's hard to get excited for something you aren't sure is going to even happen.

I still have to use cleanser...though I use Clean and Clear from the drug store. The joys of being 20 something...pimples are a thing. No moisturizer; that makes me break out.

If my parents are any indication, I should make it quite a while without wrinkles. If my dad is an indication, I should make it all the way to 60 without wrinkles, at least.

Both he and my mom still get pimples, though, so I'm cursed with that for a while...
I never got pimples until after I had kids. And once I switched moisturizers, that stopped too. I have very sensitive skin and I do break out if I use the wrong stuff.

I had really clear skin as a teenager. I get pimples more just from sweating during a workout and hormonally (so once a month I break out). I just use a cleanser to keep my skin from getting too oily. I use one with these little exfoliating beads in it because my only skin problem is blackheads on my nose, and that plus pore strips does the trick.

Poor B, on the other hand...I've had to instill a vigorous skincare routine in him; he wouldn't listen to Mom. It helps, but kid just needs to hit his 20s.

They say boys stop getting pimples after they had.... S**

Just catching up now but....
By "year" do you mean through June (this semester) or do you mean all of 2020-2021?

Gov DeWine mentioned a possible "hybrid" look at next school year but nobody knows what that means yet. It's a wait and see game at this point.

This is the first time in my life when I don’t have a Plan B.
I know I’m not alone in this.. I feel for all kids and parents who are going thru it.

I didn’t even clean out T’s locker. They didn’t even get to say goodbye to their classmates.. they were supposed to go to school the following Monday after closures were announced, but then that that was nixed on that Sunday night. Holy Pizza all, this is crazy.

I get this. I do. When we worked from home to test the system, we had no idea it would be semi-permanent. We all left stuff at the office and none of us got to say goodbye or give each other hugs (which are now taboo).

But you have got to let this go. You cannot control it. Stressing over things that you cannot control is going to give you a stroke. I've had a stroke and they suck, and I care about you, so I'm telling you, stop stressing over things you cannot control because I don't want you to get a stroke.

I guess what I'm saying is... your feelings are valid. BUT you need to find a way to process them and move on. I hope you have since Monday, I'm still catching up. But you have to process this, leave this, and stop carrying it with you.

I appreciate this.. and I have moved on as best as possible. I wish it was just feeling, they’re easier to process than logistics. I keep hoping the school work will slow down, maybe it will as we get closer to the end of May. I’ve decided that T is not doing any more Specials (Art, Music, PE) assignments, not unless he wants to do them, and everything else is completed. I think I’m in a semi ok spot for the next few weeks now, then we’ll see what DeWine does about summer.

What are you going to do with A? Are you able to continue working from home? I’m really hoping that a lot of companies will be flexible with that.

I know you're in a competitive private school so you likely won't agree to this, but in your shoes I would honestly just opt out of the schoolwork. Like,... Teachers are already prepared to catch the kids up in the fall. And one additional month of Summer vacation isn't going to make a difference in his overall schooling. And you'd be saving you and him so much stress.

I've been working from home for seven weeks now, on Thursday. Work is harder because A is home but we've developed a pretty solid working process. I make sure to take breaks from work so we can play. We work on reading, too, and do some work sheets, but mainly spend time where i can just playing with her because that's how i can get her to leave me alone when i have a meeting.

She has really gotten into calling people on messenger and giving them makeup tutorials. Like when she turned me into a "pretty kylo ren" 😂😂

And here she turned herself into Mimi from the Drew Carey show 😂😂😂😂

oh my goodness!! A did a wonderful job!! Love it!!!

I can’t allow him to stop the work, they’re still being graded as usual. What teachers have done now (which is a lot better than previously) is to give 2 days of assignments at a time. That way you can complete more if you want to, and will then have a lighter load the next day. This is working a little better for us.
The specials don’t count towards GPA for honors or permanent records.. I tried to keep up with those assignments, but I’m just not going to do it any longer. Especially Art. He can do it if he wants, it’s too time consuming too often. Not worth the stress imo.

My dad is sitting in front of the TV watching an Orioles game from 1983 with the scorecard he kept from that game when he watched it in 1983 when he was at his dad's house. He's watching it calling the plays as he goes along, and I think this is the happiest I've seen him in weeks.

Whelp, whatever it takes.

Yes!!! We have been enjoying the throwback games!! We’ve watched the Women’s World Cup games again (I cheered just like I was watching it for the first time 😂). FCC has been showing games from back when they were good ;).,.which is bittersweet but still enjoyable. There’s been some great throwback baseball games. And we had an entire day of watching OSU football while playing the board game Risk (which takes an entire day in itself).
