This is costing some people a lot of money and I have yet to see that "relief" check show up. Does anyone know if Social Security recipients have been paid out yet, and if so, where can I find a schedule that actually tells you anything.

Anyone who filed a tax return and gave their banking information with it, has received the money, via direct deposit. This goes for Soc. Sec. people and any other taxpayers. (Our money came via direct deposit within the 3-day opening window of the payment program.)

If you filed and have not yet received your money, go to the gov't. website, and you can look up when you're supposed to receive your money.

Here is the web site (below), but it is very busy from what I've read. Still, the link is here, fyi. Lastly, if you do not file a tax return anymore (some retirees are under the income level required to file, so they don't have to file anymore), keep checking the various web sites, or try calling (you may be on hold for quite an extended time, but don't hang up).

Lastly, do you have senior outreach services in your community, that you might be able to contact -- I'm sure others are also experiencing issues, and perhaps they could direct you.

Just because there is a Pandemic doesn't mean that everyone can afford to tip. So, I eat at home or go out and get something. I don't want anyone to go out and expose themselves to the virus just so I can stuff my face. This is costing some people a lot of money and I have yet to see that "relief" check show up. Does anyone know if Social Security recipients have been paid out yet, and if so, where can I find a schedule that actually tells you anything. People that can afford or have access to what they need do not have that problem, but those that are stuck, have no choice. Family members are so afraid of contact with their older relative that they use it as a way to "wash their hands" of the situation. (see what I did there)

I have family members that have not lost one penny of income. They are still working either full time from home or part time with full time pay. They have gotten their checks already, me on SS, am still waiting.

I tell you, this is also a difficult time to use the internet for things. I have been unable to contact the P.O. on their website because it is working wacky. And I have no way of telling them it is wacky. Can't go there and get any degree of help (I tried) due to the fact that they have not forwarded one piece of mail from my old address since I moved and if I try and tell them that their site isn't working, I get an immediate reply of "I'm sure the demand is heavy right now". I can't even describe what it is doing because they don't give me a chance before I am just dismissed. It isn't that I get a busy signal, I get connected and it just hangs up or sometimes it starts to ask the question (via robot) and before it finishes asking a question, it stops and a voice comes on and says "I'm sorry I didn't understand your answer". Of course you didn't you never finished asking the question. I can never get beyond that.

Same thing applies with the DMV. I moved and need to change my address. On line, when I finally can get to a working page. I go through all the steps and it tells me because I have a CDL w/passenger attachment, I have to either go to one of their offices or call. Guess what... It's easier to get into Fort Knox then get in the office to talk to a human. They have a guard at the door preventing anyone from entering. Unfortunately, the staff appears to not have seen the website because it kicks me out as soon as it figures out that I have that CDL. I have been unable to even speak to a human via phone. It should be a simple procedure, but it just isn't working now. And all they will tell me is you can change it on the website, NO YOU CAN'T. It stops you in your tracks and will not let you go any further. I can't even make an appointment. I don't see how they are to busy, since no one can get through to them.

Small problems, I realize, but since I am in solitary confinement this is a good time to take care of small stuff like that, but Catch 22, you can't. #frustratedinNC #pullingwhatlittlehairIhaveleft...out.

I understand there are people who can't afford to tip right now. If I couldn't afford to tip, I would not consider using the service. Time to recruit family or a neighbor if the person is high risk and can't go out themselves. Just my opinion of course.

I know that the DMV here is closed and they are waiving anyone that can't get their license and plates renewed right now. Are you sure that's not the case in your state too?

So here is a link for you to check on your Stimulus https://www.irs.gov/coronavirus/get-my-payment you do have to be patient with it as well, as LOTS of people are using it. Just leave it open, and it will refresh itself when it's your turn. My husband who is on social security disability did get a check, but I know it's not the same as straight social security. Plus we file Married, so that probably helped.

As far as the post office, see if you can get the local phone number, I find them more helpful than the helpline.

Well, I can't help with the DMV, but I found this about the stimulus checks. The article is dated yesterday and says you should get your check in late April or Early May at the latest.

I did hear last week that the government has given banks approval to confiscate the checks if people owe the bank money. It doesn't sound like you have any outstanding loans or anything, so it probably wouldn't affect you. This site also mentions it's faster if you have direct deposit, which most people on SSI do now, I guess?
I filed this year, but had no refund coming, so I didn't need the bank information. Now I have only SS for income. I've heard from many people that still have substantial income telling me that they got the check. They said if you have SS which requires the bank information then it is a simple procedure. Apparently not.. unless it comes at the same time as my SS deposit, which is this Wednesday. (tomorrow) I guess we will see. I have not been able to successfully access that website that is supposed to let me know the status.

Social Security deposits should be direct deposited within the next week to 10 days supposed to be by May first. The date may or may not be the same day as your regular deposit as they are coming from 2 different accounts if that makes sense

Thank you, Minnie,

I have to admit that it is not a situation that I desperately need the money, right now. I would just like to know, in clear English when I should expect it. It says if you have received a SSA-1099 that they will use that information "just like your regular deposit". OK, part of that is clear, but when they say "just like your regular deposit" do they mean at the same time or just the same manner? It is part of my ongoing battle with bureaucracies to try and get even the smallest amount of information. I have heard all the stuff, like you getting your's already and understand, but no direct hint has been given by anyone as to the planned schedule. I guess I'll know tomorrow, when I would normally get my SSA deposit. I have a bad feeling about it being messed up. I will try later to use that site again, but I think it is complicated by the fact that I have just established a new physical address, but the bank info remained the same.

Gotcha, I did one better, besides applying for mail forwarding (again) I actually put on the cloth face armor and went to the Post Office in question. They spent a lot of time passing the buck, but I had the paperwork in hand that said that they accepted my request (original) and left it with they would see if they could get it straightened out. To test them I am sending a blank piece of paper in an envelope to my old address to see if it gets forwarded to me.

Same account, just like a regular deposit but may be on different day

Thank you that is the closest I have come to getting a clear answer. I normally wouldn't be so negative about this but the federal reaction to this has been one giant cluster and I no longer feel that they know what they are doing. I know it will all calm down after a while, but, like I said on another post... I will never get this time back again and I feel I am missing out on a lot of personal experiences.

Funny what they notice. T literally said “Mom, we’re the only people I know who don’t have a really big house. “

Most of his classmates have these crazy nice set ups for home learning. Huge curved desks with itineraries hung up and a hanging bin for each subject with the day’s work printed out above. My kid has a setup on our dining room table.lol

He has a similar issue as your daughter when it comes to the floors during some of the workouts, I only have one room with hardwood, It’s a small guest bedroom, there’s no way he could practice in there. There’s several soccer kids who have amazing home gyms with proper floors and plenty of space to practice without a risk of breaking anything. We don’t have that, and are not going to have it.
We have a room set up specifically for homeschooling. It is what is supposed to be the formal living room, but who has 4 kids and is formal about anything? Anyway, only one of my kids actually does schoolwork in there and it is my son. We do school all over the place otherwise, where ever we are comfortable.
Do you have a basement area that he can use to practice?

I may be legit experiencing my first panic attack. I can’t breathe. Like, I knew this was a probability, but I kept holding out hope.
Schools are not reopening this year.

I am beyond screwed. I have no idea how we’re going to deal. I just don’t.
What is the technical last day of school? Do your parents live near enough where if stay at home orders are lifted, they can come visit you, and maybe watch T?

Sorry, this school year, meaning the current grade. However, DeWine is making it sound like they may not go back as scheduled for next school year. I don’t know if that means that all summer camps will be closed as well????
I would assume so.. I’ve already signed up for most.. awaiting the emails and probable refunds.. but holy heck I’m freaking out.
I don't think next school year is in jeopardy. It even says in the CDC guidelines that during stage 2 camps are allowed as well as daycare. Stage 2 can happen after 14 days of decreasing cases from the start of stage 1.

What is this formal I keep hearing about? Most of the time I'm sleeping in the living room as not to disturb anybody:banghead:

Wow... co-workers are irritating today.... I had to turn off my camera a few times so they can't see the eyerollings.
Today I saw a few co-workers had their cameras on during a meeting for the first time since I started working from home...it was strange. I think my company collectively decided that we just don't want ours on most of the time. I haven't had mine on once.

I am going to a virtual happy hour on Friday for a coworker who is leaving the company (moving to Colorado) so I guess I will turn the camera on for that...and throw on my glasses so I can continue to not wear makeup.
