My Jasmine the pup is the same way. When the wind is really whistling, forget it.

Funny story. DD had her dance class on Tuesday on zoom, and the dog insisted on being in her room snuggled on the bed, with a storm rumbling through. After the first couple of hours, the instructor stops and is very concerned. She asks who is panting so hard? Is everyone ok? We haven't really done anything to be breathing like that. DD had to tell her, um, that's my dog. And then there was a little Jasmine show and tell.

:hilarious:
And, as I’ve posted many times before, our Belle goes a bit off track with storms and such, but, Ranger just doesn’t care. Same with our 2 previous pups, Abbey and Tucker...!!! :)

I called the police department about coming over for T’s bday, leading the parade.. They’re sending a couple of cars, and they also said they’d contact the fire department to have a fire truck come as well.

I think he’ll be surprised!

I did hit a bday snag though, most of the purchases wont arrive until after his bday, by 5-10 days! 😬. I ordered last week and thought it was plenty of time. :(
Heads up for anyone trying to order stuff online.
Yeah, now that most stores are closed, everyone is forced to order online, so internet businesses are swamped. We're 8000 orders behind and we did just under 7000 orders yesterday. So we're more than a day behind. We have a guarantee that if you order by 10:30 pm, your order is delivered the next day, but we just can't make that now. The most we've ever done in one day was 7000. I would imagine it would be worse in the US where a warehouse might be in New York and you have to have an item shipped to you and it has to go to various distribution centers on its way. Here you can drive across the country in 3 or 4 hours, so we don't have that issue, and we're still way slower than normal. I hope the bday stuff gets there early!

Are any of you seeing all of the gigantic birthday signs for the yard? Almost everyone here is doing them now. I just looked into it, $95 for the sign. They deliver at night, install, pick it up the next night.

I told myself that I’m going to cut back on frivolous purchases until things return to normal.. can’t decide if I want to spend that or not. I really hate that this is even an internal debate. It’s easy to say “it’s just a hundred dollars”, but I have to adjust to cutting back. Ugh. I don’t know.
Do you have an old sheet you can sacrifice and some markers or paint to make your own sign?

JC Penny might claim bankruptcy. I, for one like the store so it's very sad news. On the other hand, I am really surprised Sears is still around.
For people my age the loss of basic stores like JC Penney, Sears, Woolworth and Kresge were are exciting day out with mom. When there is talk about how bullet proof The Walt Disney Corp is I remember when any of the original places like that were considered that way too. Let's not forget about the fate of Kodak. I feel like a lot is missing when those stores finally become history. The Sears wish catalog made Christmas for us kids. When I first got married, everything, clothing, musical equipment, appliances, tools, lawnmowers, snow blowers, car repairs were available and obtained at Sears. I even bought a motor scooter there (my first motorized vehicle). When my business met with changing needs and I was forced to file bankruptcy the only requests for continued credit was my house mortgage, my car financing and my Sears Card. I knew that anything I might need Sears had available. When it inevitably does go under I will be very melancholy about it.

I feel the same way. My Grandmother also worked for her local JCP in the accounting office for years, so I have fond memories of visiting the offices with her there. Most of my clothes were from there... and getting the Christmas catalog was always a highlight! I can still remember the smell of the candy/peanut counter in the sears stores.. and visually see it in my head. It makes me so sad to think of these iconic stores not making it.
