@donaldtoo , sending love and prayers to you and your parents. Their house fire was devastating, but thank God they were o.k. and no one was hurt. Glad that they have family close by for support. Down the road, a house will be rebuilt for them, and better days will (eventually) be ahead for them.

Thank you so very much for all of the love and prayers Minnie...!!! :)
My parents are so beyond loved...!!!!!!! :inlove:
And yes, their home will rise from the ashes like a phoenix, and there will be many more loving family gatherings there over the years to come...!!!!!!!

I watched the free episode of the Picard series. That's a good idea CBS All Access had...that being letting people see the premiere episode to inspire them to want to see more.
It was enjoyable but I'm not gonna sign up.
I might use your idea that you presented to me in a previous post...the one regarding "once all episodes have aired."
Have a good remainder of the weekend.:)

Epcot is my least favorite park right now. TT is stupid since they redid it. The only major ride is Soarin'. I like the festivals, but other than that, it's meh. Once they get Ratatouille and Guardians up, it'll be better.

Though they better not do this stupid Boarding Group thing with Guardians. For RoftR, it's okay because I think B'll be okay with doing it one time this trip and then being able to do it regularly on future trips. He got fixated on Smuggler's Run today, but he did it and was fine. Guardians of the Galaxy, however, is his absolute favorite movie. Part II is the only movie he has ever begged me to go see on opening weekend. He has a Rocket plush. If they do this boarding group thing, it will not be pleasant.
I want a rocket plush :(

To me RISE is just fine I have interest. I did
smugglers and it was fine but if I never rode again I’d never look back. Others are heartbroken trying again and again for Rise. I feel badly for them. A morning glitch in an app and it’s a no no go for so many. The system sucks for those following the system and the system glitches

So glad to hear Mom and Dad are safe and that a lot was saved!!! I can only imagine how you felt being stuck in traffic and having no other way to get there and fearing the worse.

So it sound’s like Mom and Dad’s house is going to be getting a makeover! Will you be creating a design to add some new and fancy features?

Yes, we definitely have ideas, but, we hafta’ be careful about the difference between an insurance repair, and a remodel...!!! ;):)
Small improvements to the home have already been discussed. One being removing the circled wall below to open the kitchen completely to the living room, and putting a sit up island there instead. On the kitchen side there is a small section of upper and lower cabinets and a full height pantry cabinet. The questions being, what to do about structurally supporting that corner, where to relocate the pantry, and where will the China hutch then go...?
This is stuff I deal with on a daily basis in my architectural design career. It will all be “handled”, though, trust me...!!! ;)

The house is our home base. It is our refuge from the craziness of the world. I’m sorry, but I’m gonna’ get really corny and just say my parents are the best that have ever existed on the earth...I wish y’all could all meet them, because I’m beyond sure that y’all would all agree with me. They love life, and their family, and still work so hard at there age.
They don’t have to, but, it is in their blood, and they just do it. I am beyond amazed and inspired by them.
Being with them at mass tonight was very important. They are charter parish members...it was emotional towards the end, as they have given so much time and treasure to the church that they love...!!!!!!!

Thank you so much...!!! :)
Yes, we do know what started it.
Both of my folks are big gardening/plant people. After all, they were both raised on Texas farms...!!! ;):)
About 25 years ago my pop built a greenhouse against the back of the house. That way they didn’t hafta’ bring certain plants into the house during a freeze. There were a coupla’ heat lamps in there and one of them burst. We weren’t under freezing conditions at the time, but, they were on. Just a freak accident, as It would have exploded at some point one way or the other.
The timing was actually a blessing too. Even if they wouldn’t have been home eating dinner, the lacrosse team would have still been practicing across the street and called 911 like they did. Things could have turned out very different based on the timing.

Another thing is, they had thousands upon thousands of dollars worth of cash, coins, silver ingots, etc., stashed in the house, that we all, mostly, had no clue about. All of it is now deposited in their bank and/or in a safe place at their bank. Depression-era folks.

Also, we took DS to my folks house for the first time today to see all the damage after visiting my folks at the hotel this morning (he was there the night of the fire, but, this was the first time he was inside and out back). He didn’t take it well at all, but, he insisted on seeing it. He’s better now, but, it was a rough morning for him for a bit. He loves his grandparents so very much.

I love the positive attitude ❤️

So 2 kids were out sick on youngest’s team today. One had an important role as she bases in 2 stunts, the other not so much. They got a girl in their age group from the Junior team to fill in as a base in the pyramid, and reworked one stunt. They actually hit a perfect routine and beat out the 2 other teams in their division. The kids really pulled together. It has been a rough 2 weeks for them with all the drama. They showed they are better than the drama.
Kids can be amazing:inlove:

I saw a news story that the ground hog is saying it will be an early spring. Let's hope he is correct. :)

By the way, after almost no days with sunshine and cloudy gloom here in January, February is starting out for me with two days of sunshine!
Going to be sunny here tomorrow, but the rest of the week will be gloomy with rain forecasted every day.
