I thought you guys spent the holidays elsewhere from WDW I just couldn’t remember where. I’m not a fan of WDW during the Hoilday 2 weeks. We’ve done it a few times and it is a challenge at best. And freakin expensive.

We used to stay at the Disney resort on Hilton Head but my dad hasn't been able to get it on cash the past two years (only points, and he doesn't want to use his points), so we've stayed at a Marriott on the Island. Three bedroom unit, which is nice because B and I get our own room and bathroom. Before that I was sharing the second bedroom with my aunt and B and my Grandma took the living room, and then he shared the master bath with my parents and I shared with my aunt and Grandma.

I do like the Disney resort a bit better because there's a bit more to do and it's better maintained, but the Marriot has a larger room and there's an indoor pool, which my Grandma loves.

I might have to bike over to the Disney resort. There's a CM that I made friends with over there at age 10, and she's remembered us every time we've come back. So I might have to go over just to see her.

Got an email with a code for cheap All-Star rooms, also got a message from a DVC pal offering to take us to Moonlight Magic at the MK in April (right after our big Record Store Day event.) Needless to say, we're booked at All Star Music for a couple of nights! And I will not spend all my Chase Disney points that I'm supposed to be saving for a cruise in the Fall!

We volunteered again to help at the DDs pediatric cancer foundation Christmas Bash yesterday, and it was again amazing...!!!!!!!
Over 70 families were there...
Each child got $100 worth of Christmas gifts, plus all their siblings got same. But, they don’t know that. All those gifts are collected by their parents in nondescript bags in the back classroom area of the church and we help them get them to their vehicles so the kiddos don’t see them. One family had 6 kiddos, and yes, they got $600 worth of gifts. The mom was apologizing, and they told her no problem, that’s how it works. 3 of their kiddos they adopted, and luckily they drove 2 vehicles to get all the presents into...!!!!! Also, the presents aren’t random, the families make requests, and A LOT of work goes into this. Plus, the foundation also gives the families a bunch of basics...toilet paper, diapers, etc.
In the meantime, the kiddos are havin’ fun doin’ other stuff like decoratin’ cookies, playin’ games, talkin’ to Santa, etc.
Each kiddo also gets a big gift to open at the party. There were bikes, RC cars, etc.
The whole thing was just wonderful, and we’re so proud that our DDs continue to be involved with this as BoD volunteers, and the nice lady that runs the foundation loves them to death...!!!!!!!
I also was the Gator driver to help schlep all the stuff to the vehicles while the kiddos were busy in the church...and, guess who’s been volunteered to drive the Gator again next year...?!!!!!

How wonderful. You are teaching T some great values.

We became involved when he joined th Cub Scouts. We quit Scouts mid year last year, but we decided to still continue the annual Wreath involvement. I think it’s a neat organization.

A garden center in my area donates live Christmas trees overseas every year, to some of the troops.

I'm work-adjacent. Drinking all the beers. Maybe this location was a bad idea LOL.

Started with "Absofruitly Pailed It" 7% Pale Ale and now onto "Edmond's Cereal Dinner" 5% golden ale (preferred.)

That is an amazing effort by so many people. I love reading about events like this -- kinda restores my faith in humanity.

This is hysterical.

I never tried anything like that on Jack; but on my previous dog, I made her a blanket jacket (very simple cut-out pattern with velcro sewn on. She despised it! Also, bought her some booties so her paws wouldn't get hurt from the salt on the roads. She hated those, too!

Hence, when Jack came along, I decided that dogs just don't like anything on them!
