Love me some pandas! What a day we had. In a way it was a bust. We went to the National Zoo and were not impressed. It was a gorgeous day, but so many animals were not in their enclosures. We didn’t see any of the big cats or gorillas. The coolest area was the Amazonian house. The cutest animals were the pandas. The food was just blech. Thank goodness the cashier gave us a member discount. We are not members so she didn’t have to do that. Here are some pictures.

I think it is more than wealthy. Colleges are corrupt in terms of student athletes. Division 1 colleges get high school students that are talented in sports, but does not do that well in class room. Division 1 schools care about cash than about student grades and gives those athletes scholarships. There is big money in college football and college basketball. If we read the news we can see that some of the wealthy are buying those educations, many holders of them are worthless. It's been that way for a long time and it is clear that a lot of those people are dumber than a box of rocks.
You are probably correct, but, think about this, if people stopped spending massive amounts of money to obtain those Masters Degree's then companies would have to move you up without it and would judge you by your performance in the real world not a piece of paper that in and of itself is not worth as much as the frame it sits in.
I understand the importance of a good education, but it has gone off the rails, out of control. There doesn't appear to be an end to it in the near future, it is a 600 pound Gorilla in our living rooms. We know it's there but, we are afraid to shove it away. In the dark ages when I was in school, an Associates Degree got your foot in the door and management was in your future. Then it was the Bachelors Degree that opened all those doors. Now it is turning into a Masters, soon it will be a Doctorate. It will have to end, soon, unless someone dreams up a Degree higher than that. There are many very smart, very talented people with many skills and abilities that are discounted out because they don't have that piece of paper. It is just plain stupid. If we read the news we can see that some of the wealthy are buying those educations, many holders of them are worthless. It's been that way for a long time and it is clear that a lot of those people are dumber than a box of rocks.
I think it is more than the worthy. Colleges are corrupt in terms of student athletes. Division 1 colleges get high school students that are talented in sports, but does not do that well in class room. Division 1 schools care about cash than about student grades and gives those athletes scholarships. There is big money in college football and college basketball.
I remembered reading on the news years ago that colleges actually made up classes so the students have a GPA good enough to be eligible to play college sports. There even was a football player back in 2000 that was playing college football with a 0.0 grade point average at Ohio state.
Besides corruption, Division 1 colleges recruit basketball players that only want to play one year of college basketball before declaring for the NBA draft. The NBA has rule that prevents basketball players to declare themselves for the NBA draft in the same year they graduate from high school.
That means the colleges are looking at talent that does not want a degree, but play basketball professionally instead. The colleges still gives these one and done basketball players a scholarship and to me it is a waste of a scholarship.
