I've been a member of Tripadvisor since 2,008. I have over 4,000 posts. Your idea here is great and it would be terrific if it became a reality. @Club Cooloholic , I'd just like to let you know that you could get help instantly, by posting your question(s) on the "Montana forum" of Tripadvisor.
It works in the same way as the threads of wdwmagic

Meant to respond, but, got distracted...got the “like” in though...!!! ;)
That makes much more sense.
Sounds like that battery was well into its death throes, instead of “conveniently” dying just as the recall visit was planned.
How old was the battery when it died...?
Most aftermarket places prorate the difference from the warranty to it dying.
I’ve had 5-year warranty batteries die at 3 years, thus they took took 2/5ths off the price of the replacement.
Hasn’t happened in a while, as the batteries seem a bit more stable now.
Vehicle issues are always sooooo much fun...!!!!!!! :joyfull:

The battery was just about 5 years old. The car has 65k miles on it.

Went to the corner store for a TSSFFBR, and when I got back the newish neighbor lady across and a bit down the street came over to chat with me in our driveway. Nice enough lady, but, it lasted over an hour before I could finally, politely, break away when another neighbor who was walkin’ her dog showed up...!!!!! :hilarious:;):)
