Very true. I should have added to my comment that we have a battery tester at home. Dh’s battery needed a jump start at home back in the winter. He used my car to jump start it. Then he bought a tester from Walmart and tested both our batteries. Mine showed that it was low, but I thought it was weird since the gauges on the car were fine when I drove. I had noticed the previous few days before I went to the dealer that the car didn’t sound right when it started. It has a push button start so it should start right away. It kind of sounded like it was struggling to start. I thought that it was because it was overdo for an oil change. The oil life was down to zero because of our recent drive down and back to Florida. Pretty sure I wasn’t scammed. It starts up great now.

Meant to respond, but, got distracted...got the “like” in though...!!! ;)
That makes much more sense.
Sounds like that battery was well into its death throes, instead of “conveniently” dying just as the recall visit was planned.
How old was the battery when it died...?
Most aftermarket places prorate the difference from the warranty to it dying.
I’ve had 5-year warranty batteries die at 3 years, thus they took took 2/5ths off the price of the replacement.
Hasn’t happened in a while, as the batteries seem a bit more stable now.
Vehicle issues are always sooooo much fun...!!!!!!! :joyfull:

"planned obsolescence" :cautious:

Hahaaa...!!!
Yep, I remember first hearin’ this from my pop when I was a kiddo...
“Crap’s got to break so ya’ hafta’ buy a new one. They’re just all competin’ to see how far they can push it without losin’ too many customers, but, still makin’ money...does a lower price outweigh overal quality at the time of your purchase...? It’s a balance.”
Yep, he said that to me. I may be off by a word or two, but, that was the gist of it...!!! :)

I can’t believe how many people are out and about so early!

Woke up at 4:30 just because. Quest Diagnostics opens at 6am, so I arrived at 5:45. One guy was standing outside already. I stayed in my car until a third guy started walking up, so I beat him to the front door lol. By the time they opened, over a dozen people were here. I had flashbacks to rope dropping AK.

Waiting to get poked. 🤣

The one I always go to opens at 7a. I’m usually there around at least 6:40a, and usually the first.
I remember a guy walkin’ up around 6:55a one time and there were already about a dozen of us waitin’ for the place to open.
He walked up the stairs, and as soon as he saw all of us waitin’ he jokingly said... “Oh man, you people are killin’ me!!!”
I remember thinkin’... “Dude, your’re killin’ yourself, drag your a** outta’ bed earlier like most of the rest of us do...!!!!!” :hilarious:

Throwing this out there as an idea for a sub thread. Many people on this site are some of the best vacation planners I have ever seen, and I bet they are with all their vacations, not just Disney. I was thinking a sub thread for non-Florida or Disney theme park vacations would be really great. Recently I sent a poster some tips on a Niagara Falls vacation, and I am currently planning a Yellowstone/Montana trip for next summer and could use some tips from anyone willing to give them. A sub thread could be a great resource for many of us.

There were a lot of discussions about approaching someone at school about it, especially when he referred to the girls in the class as"baby factories", but DD begged us not to. He is the only one in the school who teaches that class, so she would not have been able to transfer. Eventually, he was handed a 2week suspension, but as a tenured teacher, who has been teaching in the district for 20+ years, that is probably the worst that would happen.

Once they start preachin’ instead a’ teachin’ that’s when I get torqued.
What a jerk.
I don’t give a rats fat what your political views are or not, teach the appropriate subject matter as it’s required, or go DIG. A. HOLE.
Self-appointed, self-absorbed jagoff... :bored:

O.k. I've been wondering -- if you haven't seen the TV series (I haven't, but it looks interesting), does it make any sense to see the movie? I mean, do you have to know the background, characters, etc. before you go?

Good question, I think if you read a synopsis of the series you might be okay but you'd might miss a few of the minor bits from the series storyline. So it probably would be most helpful if you knew a little bit.

I've been a member of Tripadvisor since 2008. I have over 4,000 posts. Your idea here is great and it would be terrific if it became a reality. @Club Cooloholic , I'd just like to let you know that you could get help instantly, by posting your question(s) on the "Montana forum" of Tripadvisor.
It works in the same way as the threads of wdwmagic
