Which franchise is bigger? I've seen this debate come up on the boards here a few times now, so from the totally unbiased opinion of a Disney fanatic, vote on which franchise you think is bigger. Please don't vote on which one you like better, make a decision based on which you think is more influential, money-making, and so on. So STAR WARS or HARRY POTTER? Ready GO!

Yes, there are more more that should be included, but, just look at the books, including comics that have gone on with Star Wars...can any of those boast that they helped bring down the Soviet Union???? Remember Ronald Regan and his proposal? Defense rests...

Notice I didn't say 'biggest'. This is as strictly pertains to the debate between Disney's Star Wars and Universal's Harry Potter attractions currently raging.



And seriously, Halo? You really think that holds a candle to Star Wars, Star Trek, Harry Potter, and so many others?

well I only put it there because it has such a large and active daily fanbase and its game releases smashed all entertainment release records in just 24 hours

In the grand scheme of things, Star Wars wins. However, right now (and this is temporary) I think more people care about HP. It's kind of like comparing Elton John to Lady Gaga. Lady Gaga gets more airtime on the radio right now, but in the long run, Elton John will actually be remembered. You know, because he actually plays MUSIC as opposed to that crap Gaga does...

Well, as it pertains to the theme parks, it's not really
fair, because WDW doesn't have a Star Wars land . . . .

(though that would be cool!)

So, beyond the franchises, it's about the treatment of the franchises.

I think that both Gaga and Potter are pretty good things. :shrug:

Star Wars for sure! Although Harry Potter movies have made more $$ now but If all the SW movies were released now instead of the 70's 80's they would have the chance to be close to potter

The real shame is that Disney has been sitting on the Star Wars franchice for years, decades actually, and hasn't done a thing with it except build an outdated simulator for it. :hammer:

Potter can give you a land in a theme park, but SW, if done properly, could be an entire theme park resort. :shrug:
