The 60th Anniversary of Disneyland: The Reality of it All

What are the odds that we get a different version of disco yeti for the Matterhorn.

Seeing as how the 1978 animatronics of Harold were working fine before the current rehab began in January, it seems more likely that WDI will simply install more sophisticated versions of Harold, plus some vastly better digital projections on the lift or just after the lift where the simple 1970's "red eyes and growl" segment plays out.

More bizarre Disney PR. I guess it's cool they're updating the abominable snowman. But are they taking them all out? I mean, I kinda dig the old versions. They look like awesome 80s Jim Henson creatures. It's not something that needed to be done, but I guess it's good that they're doing something? But it seems like everyone just wants them to put padding on the seats. Do they know this? That they didn't have to spend money on new AAs and effects? That they only had to put some pads on the seats for people's butts...?

Then with Peter Pan, they only confirm an updated nursery scene. That's it? Very vague.

According to micechat they said that the frozen sing a long is expected to leave along with everything frozen in Hollywoodland. Also they said that muppetvision is coming back for the 60 year anniversary.
Did you read recently? The 24 Hour Event Press Release from March 11th still lists the Sing Along and hasn't been updated yet.

Speaking of the Sing Along, it's on DCA Calendar for May 21. May 22nd/24 Hour Event schedule is out . As of now, 2 F!, 1 showing of PTN, 1 showing of DL Forever(no surprise) 2 showings of WOC(how come they don't put Winter Dreams or Celebrate on their online calendar?)

Soundsational, Magical Map, and Sing Along(If DCA still has it) are missing. Hopefully that changes.

Freeze the Night ends April 12 and Olaf's Snow Fest will close on May 16. The sing-a-long isn't expected to close for quite some time; neither is the meet-n-greet in Disney Animation.

They finally confirmed it. DPB:

You may remember our chilling challenge from a few months ago, in which we asked you to guess which spooky specter was preparing to materialize inside the Haunted Mansion at Disneyland park. Today, I’m excited to tell you that many of you were correct! The Hatbox Ghost is reappearing in May. Here’s a sneak peek!

The Hatbox Ghost appeared in the Haunted Mansion for a short time around the opening of this classic attraction in 1969. Although brief, his presence sparked a decades-long following, and this reclusive resident of the Haunted Mansion was never forgotten. We’re excited that he will soon materialize once again!

Let us also hope that the interior is sealed better at the top of the lift so that in the daytime the outside light is not leaking in, spoiling the above mentioned effect in the "red eyes and growl" segment.

Always found that surprising...especially after the last refurb...how much daylight leaks in there in that area when it should be dark.

I guess that is why Walt liked to refer to it as his *Swiss Cheese Mountain* ....it was full of holes back then (Skyway passageways) and it is STILL full of holes even today!

I really hope I can make it back sometime later this year for all the 60th activities, but nothing set in stone yet.

So excited to see all the changes/updates in person at some point.

So weird of them to just drop Hatbox Ghost into the mix about a month before. Why not hype up his return months in advance? At a big press event? Like the one they had?

Whatever. HBG is gonna be awesome. Eager to see him. :D
