There are still less ghosts in Mansion than when it first opened these days. Hatbox Ghost isn't the only one that was removed, he's apparently just the most famous thanks in large part to the internet. I'm assuming most, if not all, of us weren't even alive when it first opened. But in our lifetime, the April changing portrait, seance room ghost and blast-up ghouls have been evicted for no apparent reason. That's in addition to various other elements that did nothing to warrant removal (except maybe fall into disrepair), such as the tombstones outside, load area spider and bats in the attic, which were just like the ones you can see at the beginning of Big Thunder Mountain. At least two versions of the bride have also been replaced and we've been stuck with that Renee Zellweger-looking broad who won't stop yapping.

Perhaps. We will never know. The Hatbox Ghost will continue to be enigmatic despite the new version. Every time I go through the attic, I wonder just what it looked like in 1969 when apparently there was very little in the way of attic junk and the original bride and the real Hatbox Ghost were there. No one seems to know what happened to that figure or WDW's theoretical figure.

I mean, that thing is far more mysterious than the Hatbox Ghost because of all the conflicting stories, yet proof of its conceptualization and a place for him in the old schematics. But we just have nothing beyond that, unlike Hatbox Ghost.

It seems like the publishing of the photos of the figure in the ride are what pushed up the knowledge of the Hatbox Ghost. From there it became one of those "secrets" that is about as secret as Disney's Vacation Club.

According to the Interwebz, there's another Diamond Celebration Media Event happening at Disneyland on Tuesday morning. That must be what the stage setup is for in front of the Castle.

I wonder what they'll announce or elaborate on? Or will it just be more vague sketchiness regarding rumors that MiceAge reported six months ago?

Don't know about any event, but the stage setup should be for AFV tapings at the park.

Not much added to 24 Hour Day. Another WOC-C! and PTN is on there now. No Soundsational and Soundsational only has one performance after that day and no showings Mon-Thurs. though out May leading up to the 60th. DL hasn't added them to the calendar yet?

This is unofficial from another site, but it gives us a good idea of what the daily entertainment schedule will look like this summer after the 60th kickoff weekend.

Disney California Adventure Park 8:00AM to 10:00PM Daily
Pixar Play Parade 5:15PM
World of Color - Celebrate! The Wonderful World of Walt Disney 9:00PM & 10:15PM

Disneyland Park 8:00AM to Midnight Daily
Mickey's Soundsational Parade 4:30PM
Paint the Night Parade 8:50PM & 11:00PM

Fantasmic! 9:00PM & 10:30PM
Disneyland Forever Fireworks 9:30PM

Phew! That's a lot going on each day; three different parades, two different water shows, and a huge fireworks spectacular, with multiple performances of the night water shows and parade. It's the most major entertainment scheduled in any of the five Disney properties around the world, and even more than the combined daily entertainment of all four WDW parks combined this summer.

I remember Disneyland having this type of schedule in the mid 1990's with an afternoon parade, two or three Fantasmic! shows, the Electrical Parade, and the old 5 minute Fantasy In The Sky fireworks. It was a frenzy of activity back then. But this is even more aggressive with the much bigger fireworks spectacular, plus the parade and water show offerings at DCA next door.

Add in the daily major stage shows like Aladdin and Mickey's Magical Map, the Mad T Party zone, and all the smaller stage shows and entertainment, bands, and nightly dancing, and you'd be wise to get an extra shot of espresso in your Mocha at Starbucks.

A nice shot of the Castle this weekend as it nears completion with it's Diamond Celebration overlay, from Dateline Disneyland.
