Hey guys, quick question, my wife and I will be in Disneyland from May 15-25th, I noticed that Peter Pan's Flight and the Matterhorn are currently down for refurbishment. Can anyone supply an up to date link where we can find out if/when attractions are back up again? I imagine that everything will be open within the timeframe that we're visiting but, I just want to make sure. Thanks again!

Disneyland.com has a list of refurbishments in the calendar section, under "park hours". It currently goes through May 21st, and Matterhorn and Peter Pan will have both reopened by then.

I am. And I am doing so to make a point. If we're celebrating the 60 year history of Disneyland, Marvel really doesn't have a place in it... yet.

I think there's some confusion about what the theme is for the new WOC show.

The show is called World of Color - Celebrate! The Wonderful World of Walt Disney. It's about Disneyland, because Walt invented Disneyland, but it's also about the animation and creative artistry Walt invented throughout his life.

But the show doesn't end in 1966 when Walt died, because it's also about the legacy Walt left with his company that lives on in the 21st century. Including Marvel. And Pixar. And some other stuff invented after 1966.

Here's a 90 second YouTube clip of Steve Davison announcing the new show and explaining its purpose.

I really don't mind Marvel being in it. After all Jack Sparrow was in the original one too (yeah I know the movie came after the ride) and it was one of the best scenes.

That's all true. And Marvel has had ONE meet and greet in Disneyland? That warrants inclusion in a show of that magnitude?

There is more than one meet and greet along with some other integrations into the resort, but overall yes it has not has as big an impact yet as other IP’s since it is fairly new to the portfolio, however it does qualify for inclusion. Do you have the same view that Frozen should not get prime placement in the 60th since it has only been in the park for such a short period of time?

Marvel needs to be included during the 60th. I’m pretty sure that just about everything that encompasses Disneyland in the last 60 years will be celebrated in one way or another over the course of this long event. This is how they are showcasing Marvel. In my view if they were to not spotlight (meaning in a big way) their biggest property right now, those in charge should lose their jobs. It would be ridiculous not to.

I'd rather wait until both Frozen and Marvel had something relevant in Disneyland to include them in a retrospective show.

The only Tag WOC had was TRON. Everything else got a place in WOC.

But they were still all temporary promotional pieces, were they not?

And even if Marvel remains in the show for the duration of its run, I'm glad Disney is picking something different from the standard grab-bag of Disney song/movie selections. We don't need to hear "Under the Sea" again.

Isn't Brave and the updated Pirates segment still in WOC?

Do we know for sure that the Marvel segment is not just a tag to promote the Avengers like Tron, Brave, Pirates etc?
We don't. I hope it's that- just a tag.

Yeah, we have Disneyland Forever for UNDER THE SEA....

I don’t see why it would be a tag. The Tron tag was added for a short time to promote the movie release. Avengers will have been out for several weeks by the time we see WOC Celebrate for the first time. It will have already made its money. There is not really a reason to add it as a tag when they are completely redoing the show and can integrate it in.

Why the hell would Marvel be in a show about Disneyland's 60th anniversary?! First I'm hearing about it.

Sorry for the delay in responding, I couldn't get to a keyboard last night.

I heard about Marvel's inclusion back when I first heard about WoC 2.0 and even believe mentioned it around these parts a while back, so I thought it was pretty common knowledge.

I'm not thrilled about it either; but, not from a Marvel perspective... it's more of a non-animation perspective. I don't think live action holds up as well on the mist screens as does animation. Actually, I don't care for the mist screens as much as I do the fountains; but, that's another story.

Marvel in the show will make more sense in DCA in the future. The only question is by then will we be on WoC 3.0. Very probably.

Has any of the locals heard any further news about if the 2nd show was going to be back on the schedule this summer or not? My sources aren't sure; but, they were hopeful it would be.
