The 60th Anniversary of Disneyland: The Reality of it All

I'll tell you what, if I was rich I would not stand for that off centered window!!!!

Isn't it funny how some things bug people and not others? When I first saw the offset window I studied it for a moment and shrugged, yet it drove me slightly crazy how faded the Matterhorn was before they finally got around to painting it. Every recent pic of Space Mountain I see makes want to grab a broom and a bucket of white paint.

So.....

I arrive back in Anaheim two days after the 60th officially ends.

Can I expect to find lots of merch 'discounted'...or will it all pretty much disappear overnight, swept away by the late night elves working Merchantainment and sent to the local Cast outlet location...?

;)

Just curious.
I already have a few choice items from previous visits during the 60th, but will admit that the thought recently crossed my mind as to what will become of all those 'leftovers'.

It's unlikely you'll see clearance merch in the park. By the 5th most of what's left will have been spirited away to Company D or outlets.

We have a Disney outlet store an hour and a half away from us. There is one shelf of clearance stuff if your lucky, and the rest is regular priced stuff. My daughter did find a $40 phone case for $10 though last month.

Forget Bob, I just want to finally set foot in Club 33 at last.
Happy I did it once, prior to the rebuild. Was very cool but $500 later...ouch. It's a value if you don't have tickets as entry included a park ticket but with AP's it was mucho expensivo. $45 for Mickey shaped Mac N Cheese.

So basically if I ever make it through the door the only thing I'll be able to afford to do is look around lol.

The real secret is to have a member take you to the lounge. It's nicer than the main dining room and you can just have a drink or some a la carte items. The dining room is prix fixe - somewhere around $125 per person for a five course meal. You can get in and out for under $30 in the lounge and have a much nicer experience in my opinion. The food is not that great.

We figured it was a once in a lifetime opportunity so why not splurge. Plus, I believe now they have the "bar" section so you could probably walk around, have a drink and get out of there much cheaper.

I need to start hobnobbing with the rich and famous to get someone to take me.
Where do you suppose I go to hobnob?
Maybe Outback or Olive Garden?

In Anaheim people wear flipflops and mouse ear hats in "fancy" restaurants, so Olive Garden probably isn't too far off the mark. I hear there's a plush private dining room in the Dream Suite. Once you win Bob Iger's heart maybe you can get him to take you there on a date.

You're right. Bob really is my quickest route to Club 33. And it has the added benefit of killing two birds with one stone cuz I'll also have Bob.
I'm just gonna have to run into him at Disneyland one of these days. Maybe we'll be riding in the same log on Splash Mountain, and I'll act terrified and grab on to his muscled arms for comfort, then BAM! I'm in!

I'm hoping for the outlets myself :) I live in Ohio and the outlet here is not allowed to carry WDW merchandise so I luck out with a lot of DL stuff (most people complain it's not WDW and leave it).
