Don't mind at all!!! There is a Disney Store Outlet outside of Cincinatti in Monroe (Premium Outlets). It is the only one I know of in the state. I've been able to get christmas ornaments for less than $5, shirts, haunted mansion items and a ton of DCA stuff :)

That sounds amazing. The question is, am I crazy enough to drive down that far next time I have to go to Cleveland...guess we'll find out!

I wouldn't call it "crazy"...dedicated is better :) We will sometimes make the 2+ hour drive just to see what they have (then go shopping elsewhere)...of course, if you're ever in the area near mid-June, there is a Disney convention in Dayton (maybe 35 minutes away)...Theme Park Connection drives from Florida (and some vendors from California bring Disneyland merchandise)...it's small but awesome- worth the trip for both.

I did enjoy the castle overlay once I got used to it. It was really blinding on a sunny day.

Loved it at night, but it was a shame that so many roof lights burnt out/stopped working overtime. For my last 60th visit, they didn't even turn on any lights on the roofs during the fireworks or after like they did earlier in the celebration.

I really enjoyed the 60th.
Things that come to mind....

I liked the early renditions of the official 'jeweled' logo when it was first revealed.

When the Castle was under tarps during the decoration installation phase, I loved the 'Herbie Ryman' design they printed over the temporary canvases.
Classy touch, and a nice nod for us uber fans who love Herb's art.

The Attraction refreshening done for several standards, three mentioned above.
The added projection effects on 'Indiana Jones Adventure' was a nice add, too.

For night time entertainment, 'Paint The Night' takes the top slot of the three new shows tied into the 60th.
'Forever', was okay...but didn't really strike me on a personal level.
Ditto for 'Celebrate'.

A few nice merchandise items, mostly higher end stuff.

Once the 60th is over after today. We will be looking forward to the 50th anniversary of Walt Disney World in five years. I hope they could create a wonderful theme for it's celebration like the 25th anniversary did. The 40th anniversary wasn't as special as seen here.

Maybe they could make commericals like these again.

The 25th song

Just don't bring back the castle cake.

This should go in its own thread.

The build-up to the 60th was the best for me, as well as the actual 60th date. When I created this thread, nothing had been announced and we were going based off rumors and speculation. It was a lot of fun hearing news about the celebration, even when the initial announcement date was cancelled. When the final announcements came, I felt really pumped about what was coming.

I went to Disneyland on July 17th of last year, and it was one of my favorite visits. I had such a wonderful time.

We have 14 years until the 75th (I highly doubt anything significant will happen for the 65th and 70th). Shall we start speculating?

Only paid 2 visits during the 60th so it really didn't resonate with me as much as the 50th. The additions were definitely nice but the 50th, and probably rightfully so, felt much grander in scale...much more excitement around it.

I could see Disney doing something with that in the parks.
I doubt Disney will go 14 years without some type of celebration or special promotion...not that they will need much to drive folks to the parks in 2 years or so with SW coming. I can see them doing some type of year long SW promotion, especially given he rumored SW fireworks. I would love to see them go back to the old Jack Lundquist type of promos or something similar to the year of a million dreams. Gift giver extraordinare? New partnership with Honda, let's give away a new Honda every day. Won't happen though, they don't need those gimmicks to drive attendance like they did in the 70's & 80's.

I could see Disney simply acknowledging 65 and 70 years, but a big celebration, on the 50th level? I doubt it.

I was only talking about birthdays. And a year-long SW promotion? Ew, count me out. Hope that doesn't happen, as it would be completely unecessary and more overkill.

RE: SW, Not saying I want them to but I can easily see them doing it. And yes, I agree, nothing as grand as the 50th and 60th but maybe some smaller promos.
