So no Christmas Fantasy Parade either...PTN instead? This is getting better and better by the minute. Seriously, do they just sit in a room and say, "let's figure out what makes the least amount of sense and to that?"

Christmas Fantasy and Believe in Holiday Magic will both be back. Like last year, ACF will run during the day as was originally intended, with PTN at night.

All that work for PTN JUST TO CLOSE IT?!?!??!? REALLY DL????????? Stupidest thing you've ever done!!!!!! Right next to canning F! For 18 months because of SWL! MSEP may be old but at least MK still has a night parade!!
Unless MK gets PTN. It should not rot away that would be worse than Spectro's fate in my mind.

LAZY DL! DARN LAZY!

I guess that's reasonably ok though I love ACF at night with the family bundled up along the parade route sipping hot cocoa.

That said, I did get clarification and PTN is still set to run seasonally - Christmas and summer. Disney did not control the message here well - did they think no one would ask about PTN when they announced what we already knew about Celebrate and Forever?

Disney goofed for sure, but they didn't say "the run has concluded and it's never going to return".

Thanks for sharing your inside information, and I apologize for always nitpicking on details. I guess the "sky is falling" reaction in the online fan community to almost every announcement gets to me sometimes.

We have different definitions of lazy. Fantasmic closed out of necessity. They are currently taking the opportunity to build dedicated hidden storage, refurb all of Tom Sawyers Island and are bringing the show back in a revitalized form. As evidenced by the scaffolding they aren't even waiting until the last possible moment either.

Lazy would be wasting the downtime and doing nothing with the show. That's a lazy Disney move, that's usually what I expect out of them. It's kind of refreshing for once they aren't taking the lazy route, quite honestly.

Placement, thematic integrity, crowd management.... destructive, bloated, tone-deaf. But not lazy... or cheap.

We are long overdue for new Christmas entertainment. At least DCA has the relatively new Viva Navidad show, which is really wonderful. And I'm hopeful that Winter Dreams this year will be much improved over the 2.0 version that removed most of the holiday pieces in favor of Frozen songs.

Believe is tired, as is ACF. The floats are quaint by today's standards, certainly well below the artistry of PTN and Soundsational. DL also needs a legit Halloween parade for the parties - that thing they trot out each year is truly sad.

Friendly reminder that Tokyo Disneyland will premiere its second all new seasonal parade this year alone in just a few weeks. There are places where holiday entertainment is updated not just every 5-10 years, but yearly or bi-yearly - Disney just doesn't own them.

New parades, fireworks, shows, lands, attractions, etc, etc all cost money. Yes, we all love new things, but I'm okay with Disney cutting some corners because I know who ultimately pays for every dime that gets put into the park.

Walt Disney World is also gaining a brand new Christmas castle show.

You know I love you and your weird thing for Bob, but I vehemently disagree with this line of thinking. The Disney Way has always been to overdeliver and create new experiences on a regular basis. With the sky high prices they charge for every little thing now, there's no excuse for any corner cutting or aging entertainment. Disneyland alone produces an obscene amount of money, and the reinvestment into new experiences is proportionally low. Call me old fashioned, but I believe Disney should work to wow in every way possible, especially at current prices.

It would be different if it was going down while they setup and replace it with a new nighttime parade, or update it, or recast it, or do any number of things... But no, they are just ending it to save money. It's disgusting.

How often are the prices low enough to justify less entertainment then the normal Disneyland experience?

If I am paying full price, middle price, or even the lowest price for no decent fireworks, no fantasmic, and no night parade... I would expect to pay a much more significant discount, 70 bucks maybe? 80?

Sorry, I prepared myself for PTN going seasonal because we've been talking about it for a while now, but the way DL said it just hit me for a loop. Hopefully they said it wrong and it will go seasonal.

Totally agree. Disney should be investing and giving guest the best possible experience versus what they've resorted to lately. I don't expect everything to be at the level of the 50th but it comes off as incredibly cheap of them to pull back on the fireworks and PTN. But again, nothing surprises me. Parks will be crowded either way so in this era of leadership that is all about the financials versus the guest experience, why would they bother keeping these every night?
