Test Track and General Motors

Hey Phone Dave, love your sig. Bender is GREAT! But the whole quote is "Fine! I'm going to go build my own theme park, with blackjack and hookers. You know what? Forget the Theme Park!" - Bender:D

seriously who buys cars from the big 3 automakers? you would have to have screws loose for purchasing such bad products.

I have no idea if you're the 'enigma' people here claim, but either way some good advice would be to not throw a blanket on any group of people (even those who buy American autos).

I bought them for a decade, all Big Three ... because I liked the styling of some, the power of others and the price of others. Each and every vehicle was built poorly (except one Pontiac) and the service I got at every dealer was the stuff of nightmares and worthy of hidden camera 20/20 reports. Deplorable and dispicable doesn't begin to describe the outright fraud these dealers engaged in.

I didn't have a screw loose when I bought any of the vehicles (well, maybe the last one).

There are some people who just want to buy American (of course, many of them will still shop at WalMart and buy other non-American made products). People also seem to not get that many Toyotas, Hondas etc ... are built in the USA anyway.

But the Big 3 lost me in the 90s and there is nothing they can do to get me back. I tried. I wanted to like their cars, but it just wasn't possible. The difference between my experiences owning Detroit products and owning Hondas and Mercedes-Benz are so opposite, it's almost like hot and cold.

I'd never look down on someone for buying a Big 3 auto, but if they asked my advice I'd scream from the mountaintop to stay away.

I swear I saw a lady pushing this "stroller" throught Magic Kingdom the last time I was there...fully loaded with diapers, kids, shopping bags, and food for the day. (in reference to another thread about how large the strollers are these days)

I dont know what enigma means. Some old member? I joined under the name Archangel and changed to this because in a thread they kept making funny x-files references.

That's really interesting. There is a rule against having more than one user name on this forum. Plus, Arch Angel's profile says he is a male. Your profile says you are a female.

Which is it?

Good question....mind if I await the answer?
