Test Track and General Motors

Just one question -

If GM is currently sponsoring Test Track, why don't 20% of the cars catch fire, 40% of the cars get recalled in the middle of the ride, 15% of the cars have their wheels fall off, and 25% of the cars have their paint flake off within 1.5 years?

...just curious.... :)

What, the ride's down alot, doesn't that count?

I wish they would get rid of TT all together, here in NJ we to faster than that on the parkway. My biggest problem with it is there is nothing at all futuristic about it. It doesn't belong in FW, tear it down.

by that logic, they should tear down soarin too, being theres nothing futuristic about hang gliding. should they do that too?

Now getting back to the subject, I would like to see an actual crash simulation added to the Test Track attraction.

Maybe something along the lines of this:

Now I would hate to see what would happen to this Smart Car if it was impacted by a larger vehicle.

You are aware that fuel efficient vehicles and non-gas powered cars come in all shapes and sizes don't you? There are hybrid SUV's, hybrid sedans, even Honda's new hydrogen car is about the size of a camry.

But in all aspects the foriegn manufactureres are leading and the american companies are making attempts to catch up but there is like a ten year technology gap.

For example, the Toyota Prius is already releasing its 3rd generation that will feature more miles to the gallon and solar panels on the roof that power the A/C system in the car. There is nothing from the old 3 American manufacturers that can come close at this time.

So like today I drove past a dealer where I bought my first Ford in the late 1980s ... and where when it was 14 months old (only one year warranties in those days) brought the car down because the AC wasn't working and was told 'it's only supposed to cool your car to 80 degrees' ... two more trips and $1100 later it was fixed (all on a car that had 10,000 miles on it) ... anyway, it was out of business. ... I smiled.

Maybe those are some good reason why Toyota may be considered to take over Test Track @ WDW Duckberg

I had a simular experience with my wifes Ford. We received a notice that it may blow a head gasket 70,000 miles and if it did it would be covered by Ford. At 71,233 miles it blew a head gasket and when we took it in they would not cover it even though they knew they were wrong.
I was a loyal Ford fan until this and now I've been driving Nissan's ever since. Thank you Ford because you forced me to buy a much better vehicle than what you produce.

Almost as crazy as someone who returns to a site after being band several times...

I've bought two Jeep Wranglers and have enjoyed both.

I don't think I would choose the big 3 for anything other than a truck or a specialty vehicle though (Wrangler, Challenger, etc.).

seriously who buys cars from the big 3 automakers? you would have to have screws loose for purchasing such bad products.

I have

I have also had "forigen" cars

I have never had any real trouble with either

I had a Dodge Omni that you could not kill, but by all rights it should have been dead the way I treated it.

I had an Olds Omega that was great, then the engine computer went wonky, changed the chip and all was OK again

I had a Chevy S10 Blazer - I wish I had that truck again - what a great vehicle.

I had a Saturn SL2 - No problems, but after a year the whole car felt "loose". Not a solid car by any stretch

I had a Dodge Caravan - never had a problem with it

I had a Dogde Grand Caravan - Electronic door locks stopped working (they worked manually) Called the Dealer Monday afernoon, dropped it off Tuesday morning, all was working when I picked it up Tuesday afternoon

I had a Toyota Corolla - Another car that you could not kill

I have a Mazda Protege. Interestingly, the radio display stopped working right about 10 months after I got it. I was shuffled from dealer to dealer, and in the end, it was never repaired.

I will buy whatever car fits my needs at the right price/terms.

Currently I get Chysteler and Chevy products below dealer invoice - so there is an incentive for me to go that route.
