I told DD today about the Nutcracker story, and she just shook her head. Apparently he's been telling her about his plans to go to Claifornia in a couple of years to do an internshop there, and how he's been checking out the price of apartments and what not out there. He told her the prices weren't bad, and she told him that paying rent involved having an income....:ROFLOL:I love her!!

Hello - back from supper - early Thanksgiving preview, I made a turkey roast and homemade dressing. :slurp:

Oh, and my kids are driving me more insane. :hammer:

Ooo, yum!:slurp:

Wow! Well you really couldn't expect 2 like that!
We gave the girls the option of working in high school. High school can be very demanding and although there's a lot to be gained by earning your own way, school should always come first. They both did work though, and have since Freshman year.
Our rule was that she could work as long as she maintained good grades. She graduated 5th in her class, got a perfect score on her verbal SAT's and a 790+ on the math, so she managed it well.

Having a tough time juggling, Tall One?

Sort of, yeah.

I'm getting 86 in physics, 93 in geography, and somewhere in the high 80's in biology.

It's these damned chemistry/stoichiometry problems giving me the most trouble. :brick:

Definitely my lowest mark, though I'd imagine it's at least a 70. Plus we have a Nobel Prize Laureate presentation coming up in December, so that should raise my mark considerably. :D

EDIT: Plus I've worked 17 hours in the past 48, and spent 17... count 'em, 17... OTHER hours working on a biology FLIPBOOK about meiosis. ARGH!!!

*sigh*... Can you tell art isn't my thing?

Oh I miss that. I used to do our own Thanksgiving dinner the week before just for the 4 of us, but it seems pretty senseless now to cook a whole turkey dinner for just Dave and me....

Actually, I'm thinking a little sooner than that - 45 minutes to Joel's bedtime, and an hour after that for Miss Abigail. They've just been loud and hyper this weekend. And I so have not been (except when I yelled at them to knock it off :lookaroun ).

Your marks are good so far! But if work starts interfering with that, you gotta do what you gotta do.
Nobel Prize Laureate presentation? What's that about?

Hello loves.

My parents told me I could work if I wanted to during the school year, but they would prefer if I did not.
They think that I should concentrate on my schoolwork.
I agree with them.
Working + my obsessive nature of getting good grades = not good combo.

How are we this evening?

^^^1. Yeah, I know. :(

2. Talk for 10 minutes about a Nobel Prize winner with Bristol Board / interactive presentation.

If something involves public speaking, I almost always do extremely well. (Why can't I have more projects like that? )

Yeah, this wasn't a full turkey, it was a boneless roast, so it didn't take as long. And I tore up a small loaf of Italian bread for the dressing. My mom makes bread and uses that for dressing. She's a great cook, but always overdoes it.

Ooooh that is rough.

I hear ya about art!
Next to math, art has always been my least favorite part of school.
The most exciting part about starting high school was that I could FINALLY ditch art class. :D
