So today my voice is still a bit hoarse from screaming on California Screamin' yesterday. LOL! @Disneyfalcon arrived and we did some adventuring. Pretty hot weather only getting hotter as the week wears on. Think I'll find creative ways to not be outside. Its different how so many of the lines are outside.

Our feet are somewhat holding up. We aren't conditioned to the walking the way we used to be. Getting old? Getting lazy? Little of both, I think. :)

Hitting up Storytellers breakfast this morning then early hour at DL. Hopefully we'll get Tammy on the updated BTMRR and we'll get to see SM west coast style.

Oh! WoC!!! People!!!!! Like nothing I've ever seen! LOVED it!

I dunno. Kinda disappointing. Lines for eeeeeverything are pretty long. Haven't seen anything under 30 minutes yet. We got into DL park at 9:15 and rode....nothing. I hope things get better. :(

In not there so cant say for certain but if you have park hoppers then hop back over to DCA for a few hours if its too crowded. Wait time apps im looking at are saying there are lots of high capacity ride closures at DL currently (Matterhorn, Big Thunder, HM) but the longest wait at DCA excluding RSR is 30 minute for Toy Story. That is the beauty of having the parks so close.

According to Mousewaits:
Screamin - 15 min
Sky school - 15 min
Soarin over California -25 min
Tower of Terror - 25 min
Toy story - 30 min
RSR - 75 min (20 min single rider)

Edit: Also keep in mind RSR and WoC fastpass does not count as fastpasses and you can have a Fastpass at DCA and DL at the same time

I understand it gets frustrating when lines start getting long. The best thing to do is just pick a ride and hop in line. Sometimes your actual wait will be shorter than the posted wait.

We were able to hit BTMRR with maybe a 5 minute wait when it first opened. Got on HM w/not much wait. Lunch at Blue Bayou was good. Got back to Space for our FP return & it was down. Standing in line for Canal boats. Eh. I'm ready to go browse some shops. Maybe go back to the hotel. Both boys are sunburned & shouldn't be out in the sun anyway. And so many rides have lines in the sun. Blech!

With the exception of the weather you are experiencing, it sounds like you are having a good time.
How can one not at the *Happiest Place On Earth*...?

:)

For locals -
Is it unusual for the temps to be so high at this time of year?
It seems a bit high for late April/early May. Heat wave perhaps...?

I arrive tomorrow and i have been surprised by the forecasts i have been looking at for the next 10 days.
Never expected to see degrees up into the 90s for Anaheim at this time of year.
I am sure it is a much more comfortable 90s then..say...Orlando*s nasty humidity index.

Yes. The temperatures are at or near record breaking for this time of the year for the next few days. 4-5 times a year the wind blows in from the east (aka the Santa Ana's) and brings the desert heat with it. Southern California sits at the edge of a desert but typically the wind blows from the ocean keeping the temps cool. When the winds shift it turns the area into a dry desert climate. Luckily it only happens a few times a year, but it can happen anytime. Last Christmas it was 80 here, again due to the east wind.

You're right. Humidity is not a problem.

The wind brings a fine sand. I felt soooo grimy this afternoon. Dirt from head to toe. I'll vouch for the dryness. I washed my hair & its dried quickly. The wind is a warm wind. Like a blow dryer. I don't personally find that the lack of humidity makes it anymore comfortable. Hot is hot. The sun still is brutal. It all still sucks the life out of you.

What a day! We threw in the towel early. Everyone is sun burned & just plain worn out. Had Naples for dinner. The guys said the pizza was as good as they remember from Via Napoli. Doing up some laundry tonight & resting. My feet are sooooo crazy swollen!

Think we'll definitely be slowing down now. :)

Rest your weary feet haha. Put some ice on them.

Wow - just looked at the forecast for Anaheim. 95 degrees in April? Has that ever happened before? I was there in late July and it was low 80's.

Stay cool Kelly and crew - and stay hydrated. The dry air sucks it right out of you. At least you don't have our weather here in PA. 45 degree and pouring rain.

Hope you get on Indy today.

Yes, the weather in SoCal is known to go up and down sometimes. It actually rained for a little bit last Friday.

It won't be this hot for the entire week. It should hit the 70s by this weekend, and continue that way, probably even into the 60s next week.

I had no idea you were posting while we were in line! Lol! :)

Yes. The temperatures are at or near record breaking for this time of the year for the next few days.

So I had a record-breaking, long, cold, snowy winter here in NY (and it's STILL cold), and now I'm heading west for a record-breaking heat out west?! Hopefully it will be more comfortable in 3 weeks when we leave (both here AND there).
