What makes visiting disneyland/California so life changing? I have read from nearly everyone on here that in comparison to disneyworld - disneyland and california is the place to be? Its makes me very excited :)

How do I count the ways?

DL and DCA have more attractions between them than all 4 WDW parks have put together. DL is Walt's park, and it's just layer upon layer of goodness - everywhere you go, detail to the hilt, rides on top of rides, charm for days. You don't have to plan yourself into oblivion - no ADRs, no FP+. Maintenance is at a much higher level than WDW. There are several attractions here that are better than their WDW counterparts - Pirates gets the most attention, plus several rides/lands that can't be found in WDW (Roger Rabbit/Toontown, Cars Land, etc.).

And on top of that, you're in Southern California, where there is so much to see and do, it can hardly be done in one trip.

I love WDW (it's my home resort), but at this present time, DLR is the place to be when it comes to American Disney parks.

I am ready to go now :) Though, we can safely assume that FP+ will make its way to Disneyland in the next 5 years. I suspect the DCL may be next and DL thereafter.

FP+ integration will be interesting to see, if it happens. NO ONE at TDA (DLR execs/management) wants it, because they know it will be a disaster for their guest-base, not to mention the operations nightmare it is. As I understand it, Burbank doesn't care and wants to force the issue. Will be interesting to see what happens.

If they put FP+ into place here, FPs will sell out way in advance for all major attractions if APs are given the same 30 day window they're given in Florida. There are too many APs for the system to work as is at DLR, but APs are left out in the cold, they will rise as one and make life hell for the park.

You forgot the much better weather. Not to mention the parks are a 30 second walk apart opposed to a 30 min bus ride.

Oh yeah! That was our first attraction in DL park this morning. We walked on. Loved it. Also rode HM, the railroad, Matterhorn, BTMRR, & tgd monorail back to DtD. Also had my very first churro! Yum!

How are the crowds? waits? in comparison to disneyworld? is it the same type of food as disneyworld (burgers, fries, etc?) Please report on World of Color and Fantasmic.

It supposed to be really slow since we are in between Easter/Spring break and Memorial day however DL always get crowded on weekends because of the number of APs. Its supposed to be moderate to moderate high crowds today and dead the rest of the week.

Great googly moogly! Peter Pan west coast style is mind blowing! It really makes you feel like you're flying!

Lovely tour. So glad we did it. Being in Walt's apartment was fabulous. I think I most adore the lengths he always went to to create comfort for Lillian. He must have been an adoring husband. He took such gentle care of his gal. I love that.

Best ever was the story of the petrified tree. Like a little peek into a sweet love story. As a wife I can imagine receiving a random gift of that caliber. Um...wow?....thanks?.... LOL!

Slowing down to smell the roses today. Can't wait to see @Disneyfalcon & @derelicte19 today!

Thank you for this.
I am visiting this Wednesday through Sunday and this is what i had guessed crowd levels would be like.
Nice to see a *confirmation* in print of my guess.
