Good Lord! My son LOVES this game (and m&g opportunities are always welcome), but we can't get Perry or Doofenschmirtz or the classic characters that have disappeared (Jiminy, Robin Hood, Little John, Chicken Little, Dug, etc., etc.) yet we get an alligator from an iPhone game?!

I get the cross-promotion possibilities, but take care of the responsibilities to your core first. Upper management has truly become a joke.

And your surprised?

He reminds me a lot of the Gators from Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon,

Could this be the return of River Country??:lookaroun

Nope i know that place is a wreck now, shame as it was once my childhood playground.

but on a serious note i must try this game, anything Disney does i must endorse lol

Actually, we saw Jiminy Cricket just last month and got a picture taken with him. It was at Rafiki's Planet Watch in AK. Not the most obvious place to meet him, but he IS still around if you want to see him.

That *WAS* the only place he was appearing for Meet and Greets but as of last month, he is no longer appearing.

.

Since when is Chicken Little a classic character by any definition of the word?

God bless the "Ignore" button.
I'm gonna leave my two cents out of this one, but I will say that I anticipate a WHOLE lot of people (like, the majority) assuming he's Tick-Tock Croc.

You don't have to be a social media zombie to like this idea! (Doesn't social media apply to facebook, blogs, twitter, etc.!?! Not games or apps!?!)

While I would love to see some other characters make appearances first this is not a bad thing. Complaining about games and apps are just making us look like old folks. It's like when our parents first complained about Nintendo and how we weren't playing cowboy and indians anymore. Apps and games are part of this generation... and the ones that are popular are going to be used to sell merch (hello Angry Birds)!

I know my kids will love to see Swampy! (I actually like the game, the kids have to think and plan to figure it out... they could be playing worse!)

(It's funny b/c I joked about this on an Angry Bird thread that was started around here a little while ago... little did I know...:lookaroun)

Hey girl! Yeah! I saw your mention on the Angry Bird thread. At that point I hadn't seen either game. Still haven't felt the urge to check out the birds but, because of this thread, I did look up Ol' Swampy. Holy crap! That game is addictive!!! :hammer: I think us homeschoolin' moms prob'ly have a bit more appreciation for the problem-solving factor in a fun-to-play game. Younger fans would prob'ly enjoy a meet-n-greet if it happens and us 'old' kids could definitely appreciate some fun-game merch. Yep, we're slippin' a little thinkin' into everyday life at every turn. I'm right there with ya! It's a good thing, really. Off to get the game downloaded to Brian's iPad....

This makes me . Perhaps I'll take advantage though, and have the fam pose with him -- the 8 year-old in his Angry Birds shirt, the 3 year-old playing Fruit Ninja on the iPad, me updating my facebook status ("Taking picture with vague alligator character"), and my wife checking in on foursquare.

I know, I love the game (and I've fought for the Ipad with my 8 year old son :lookaroun)! I love looking for all the hidden items too (where's the nerd smiley)!

What is "Classic Disney Character"?!?

It seems most folks here are in agreement that Swampy would be cool. I know my son and I would love to get a picture with Swampy.

I think there are people who need to determine what "Classic Disney Character" is as that term is really a personal judgment. I love the old animated classics and enjoy Jimmny Cricket and such, but there is the influx of characters from Pixar, Disney television (Phineas & Ferb, Kim Possible, etc.), etc. So if Disney produces a high quality game with enjoyable or dare I say lovable characters, why not include them?

The characters in the parks were originally from animation and film (Davy Crocket, etc.) as well as some "imagined" because that is what was available across the Disney company. Now Disney has far more options available to them. I welcome Swampy as the game is a lot of fun, encourages complex thinking, and is very simply yat another high quality Disney product.

Welcome aboard Swampy!
