I wish most seasons would have all new players. The others have had their chance already. And no celebrities like Jeff Kent. Give as many everyday people as you can their 15 minutes of fame and chance at $1m.
They should pick players that almost no one has heard of.Or Jimmy Johnson.
I can't imagine how Julia and Peter felt by the cross out. Julia knowing she was that close from going home, and Peter knowing he was voted out because of a last second flip.Wow. Just finished. Loved the name cross out at tribal.
I think Peter was a great character. He brought a lot of entertainment value, but he was a terrible player. He was very wishy-washy, and he was unable to play the social game. His ability to adapt was not good. Once he was on the bottom, he stayed there. And when he had the perfect opportunity to rebound and get his fellow Brains out, he flopped. Not much to say after @PUSH' brilliant analysis, except I am liking Scott better and better.
Congratulatating that Knuckle-head Nick for his efforts was classy and unexpected.
So hoping he doesn't revert to his jerky ways when reunited with that Neanderthal Jason.
Joe is another Rudy. Old school, loyal no matter what, never going to win.
I too, loved the cross out. Buh-bye Peter. See ya, and I wouldn't want to be ya!
My eyes!! My eyes!!
My eyes!! My eyes!!
I believe it's 33/34 that have been officially renewed. And honestly because survivor is so cheap a show to make compared to so many others, and has really steady ratings while most other shows are declining, I expect to see this show on for a long timeCBS has renewed Survivor. Unsure for how many seasons, but it's being reported Survivor is one of the 11 shows CBS is renewing!
Survivor has a very loyal fan base. And even when there are down seasons, they are still entertaining. And the way the game is set up, there is zero room for bad writing and acting which plagues so many scripted shows. They've gotten so good at casting that really the only thing limiting them is the season's theme (BvW 2).I believe it's 33/34 that have been officially renewed. What a disgusting episode. And definitely one of the most anti-climatic merge episodes. I kind of got the feeling based on the editing of the episode.
Starting with the merge, it was a weird way to do it. The tribe with Scot, Tai, Julia, Aubry and Joe had no chance to talk before the other tribe arrived.
I'm surprised Nick won that challenge. He's tall, which makes it tougher to balance, and he's big, which makes it harder to get his feet on that perch. Great concentration from him.
As far as edits go, I think Nick is starting to get a huge edit that says he's going to go far in this game. He wasn't as arrogant this episode, yet he still was.
I'm sad for Neal to go. He looked to be a great strategic mind. I'm surprised he didn't try to give his idol to Aubry, but at that point he clearly wouldn't be thinking in terms of strategy.
The previews look interesting. It's only a matter of time before the brawn tribe blows up.
And now since we know some of the strategy post-merge, I will start my power rankings again! These are for next week only - not for the entire season. So basically, the person in first place is the one I think has the least likelihood of going home. The person in last place is the most likely to go home.
1. Julia - She's not going home. She's quiet, minds her business, and seems to be in a majority.
2. Michelle - Again, she's laying back, but more aggressive than Julia. She seems to be in the majority, and I don't see her being a target next week.
3. Nick - He's really the man in charge right now. He's become the leader of the beauties, and Michelle is content right now to follow him and make himself a target.
4. Tai - He's got a lot of alliances and friendships, but he's been the most targeted beauty. He's really people-savvy and can read people very well.
5. Joe - He's not a physical or strategic threat. He's really just in the background. However, he's in the minority right now.
6. Cydney - She's in an alliance, but it looks like it might start to crack. However, I think she's safe.
7. Jason - Same thing with Cydney, but he has a bigger target on him. But he could play his idol if he sense trouble... or he'll think Tai will play his for him using the special power. Would Tai actually pull the trigger?
8. Scot - He's a big, physical threat, and unlike Jason he doesn't have any protection. If the votes don't swing his way soon, post-merge will be tough for him.
9. Debbie - Her offensive approach is being noticed. She's too quirky and in-your-face for that to work. Even with a normal person, that strategy tends to blow up on you.
10. Aubry - She's the clear target. Perhaps the best strategist remaining. She's in the minority, and her biggest friend in the game was med-evac'd.
After you've seen enough episodes of Survivor, you pick up on the editing and timing of things. Subtle tweaks to the usual flow. And when they mentioned how tough the conditions were in last week's preview, then following up by opening the episode saying that, I figured someone was going to have something. Plus, there have been several other med-evacs over the years because the infection was too close to a joint or bone.I thought they were going to be able to deal with Neal's infection on site. Some antibiotics, ointment or something.
