Y'all, I am the worst mother in the world. I just gave Em a crack on her bottom...she has this habit of crying and jumping up and down when she can't get her hair band (or her clothes, etc) on properly...and she never wants help, and then she gets more frustrated and yells at me. Well today I'm trying to help her and she pulled away from me and started hollering and without thinking I yelled "knock it off!" and smacked her on the heinie. I HAVE NEVER done that and I always promised her that I wouldn't, a fact that she immediately brought up. She gave me a lecture about not breaking promises, which of course made me feel worse than I already did. I told her that I had made a mistake, and she's over it but I feel awful. I didn't hurt her physically..I'm just shocked at myself. I think my nerves are just shot from this week.

Happy Anniversary to my Nibblies and her What's-His-Face.

I just got home from Lauren's shower and it was fantastic.
Maybe the nicest shower I've ever attended.
And, Nibblies, my book was such a huge hit!
Lauren cried and all the guests loved it too.

I'm really glad the shower was a success! I'm sure the book was amazing...you're a good mom too. Lauren must have been thrilled! Where did you do the shower (forgive me if this was already discussed, I haven not caught up at all).

Amy - Dot's right. If you weren't a good mom you wouldn't be upset about it. We've all made mistakes or done or said things that we swore we never would (wait 'til menopause sets in....!).

Lauren got so many beautiful gifts and seeing my friends (at least my "real world" ones) and family together in the same place made it seem finally real.
The best thing was watching my girls share such a special time. . . it was a very emotional day.

We had the shower at Georginne's in Bristol and I would recommend that place to anyone. Not only was the food delicious, but they were so accommodating! Anything we asked for was done immediately and, best of all, they never made us feel rushed. A really good experience!

I just had my second piece. :dazzle:
It was really quite amazing.
It was a chocolate chip two-tier cake with buttercream frosting.
The top tier was completely covered in buttercream red roses.
Beautiful and sinfully delicious!
