Oooo - I like that!
It was great!
She had a lot of fun pulling them all out, and I'm sure she'll have fun counting it all up!

Oooo - I like that!
She called today to see if we knew where her camera was. She claims that she hadn't eaten anything all day,so the alcohol hit her hard. The sad fact is that she was pretty drunk at the ceremony, long before the open bar at the reception.Oh, so she's the bride's aunt.
I don't think she should expect a thank-you card. :lookaroun
I'll help her count! It was great!

Happy Anniversary Nibbles!
Today at work, one of my coworkers got annoyed and said loudly, "Sweet nibblets!"
I couldn't help but smile.
Thanks!
Speaking of which. . .
My friends from here in our complex chipped in and gave Lauren a tissue box.:lookaroun
BUT. . .when you pulled out the first tissue, it was connected to a dollar bill, which was connected to another bill, and then another etc., etc. Nice gift!

At least she didn't blow her nose on one....That turned out well...naturally rotten little me's first reaction would have been "A tissue box! How....thoughtful."
No....Did she have a bottle of Windex in her hand?
Curses, foiled again!Even though I had a glass of wine at the shower, I still feel that alcohol is the cause of so much grief in the world. What family has not been touched by it?
So true! You just kind of expect that by the time a person reaches her 50's that the "thrill" and subsequent hangover of excessive alcohol would be a thing of the past.
George has already offered.![]()

Yay!!!! You should be proud - you did a great job with both of them! The box had instructions to pull the first tissue so she found out the secret pretty quickly. Otherwise, I'm sure her reaction would have been a bit interesting.
Speaking of which. . .throughout the shower, I overheard several people around me comment on how genuinely grateful Lauren was upon opening each gift. I was very proud of her.
No, since it was on the Navy base, we didn't think we'd be able to get back on at that hour without explaining how drunk the person responsible for getting the place had been, so DD followed me to SIL, DH and DS took MIL back to the nursing home, and we just all met back at home.
That's really too bad for her.Her brother is FoB, and her other brother is DH.
Hey Freddie! That's funny! :lol:Me too. :lookaroun![]()

BTW, did she get a sofa?
Thank you.
Today I really felt like I did.
No sofa.
But she got a great toaster oven.
And two George Forman grills! (Her only duplicate gift.)
She got everything for the kitchen she could possibly need and then some!
I agree - in fact, I don't care for the taste of alcohol. I have a family member (on DH's side) who has been picked up three times for DUI, and has lost his license for at least three years - thank goodness! Fortunately, he didn't hurt anyone. But he's in AA and he seems to be trying to change. I must admit, I'm in a wait and see mode. He's almost 30 and never has grown up.
Back in a bit. DBF wants his computer, since I stole the TV to watch Parent Trap![]()
There's a lot of that going around it seems Jenn. Dave and I have been discussing the situation with his sister at length today, and I know in his heart he knows something is seriously wrong, but he's still not willing to call her an alcoholic.I agree - in fact, I don't care for the taste of alcohol.
