Studios name change officially confirmed - Disney's Hollywood Studios

I have to confess that I didn't read every single page (I read about 10 of them though) so I apologize if I'm just repeating what everyone else has said :)

I'm really happy about the name change, only because for me it shows that this park is finally going to get the TLC it deserves. I feel like so much focus has been on the other parks that Studios sort of was forgotten.

Besides, I call it Studios so the new name won't change anything for me  I think someone mentioned that CMs refer to it as Studios and that's true from my experience... calling it "MGM" was almost taboo for us lol

OMG I can't believe they're getting rid of Stars and Motor Cars!!
To replace if with crap-______ Block Party Bash,
Pixar is takeing over Disney!!
If they keep it up I'll probaly never go again.
I haven't seen Block Party Bash in person, but I've seen footage, and it looks very energetic and lively.

In comparison to Disney Stars and Motor Cars, which is almost void of any real movement. The crowd never gets into it, and there is very little interaction between the characters and crowd. Just car after car going by slowly with the characters sitting there waving.

I went to MGM today to see just how many signs they need to change. It's not as many as I thought it would be.

I also wanted to buy a Disney-MGM Studios T-shirt. That was hard. I looked in almost every shop and only found a few in the store as you exit the Backlot Tour.

Below are the signs I saw...

There are probably more signs than that. I know there is one big one near Muppetvision on a wall. Although, that could just be moved altogether as it serves no purpose.

The real challenge will be changing all the signs across all of WDW property.

I'm sure I missed a few.
I agree, the big deal will be changing all of the street signs around the area.

PIXAR is Disney, Get over it! So are you saying you've never seen Pixar movies either?

Disney's Hollywood

Just try not to fool us into thinking it's a studio. It's not. And now it seems redundant and confusing.

AK is not a Kingdom...and neither is MK....what's the big deal?

True and good points. But Studios means that there is actual work going on and movie/tv show creation. Kingdom is more broad. Plus my main complaint isn't the use of studio, but more of the redundancy of having hollywood studio.

I don't see how the name "Hollywood Studios" fits if part of the park will be themed to Pixar and George Lucas films unless they plan to expand the Sunset and Hollywood Boulevard themes throughout the majority of the park.

Not that Im a fan of the name but regarding lucas and pixar it fits just as well as MGM did.

I took it to mean "all of the Hollywood studios"...granted not all of the studios they will showcase are located in Hollywood per se, but they are in California, which as far as the average WDW vacationer is concerned, is about the same.
