Stitch and Tomorrowland=what do they have in common?

That and have a pre-recorded announcement clearly saying "This attraction contains graphic violence and frightening scenes is not recommended for young children." Or something to that effect so that even the most brain dead (or fried) of parents could comprehend the warnings.

That and maybe a 3 foot high gate. The stupid parents couldn't figure a way over it. Kinda like the wall in the Simpsons movie.

AE isn't coming back for a few reasons:

It doesn't fit in with the Fantasyland East theme of the current Tomorrowland

It was an original attraction without a movie/TV show tie in

It would show that Disney would be admitting a mistake

Even as horrible as SGE is, it does provide an outlet for selling merchandise

A lot of people feel that an adult based attraction has no place in the Magic Kingdom

It would have been a ton of money wasted in turing the attraction to SGE and then back to its original form when it could have just stayed as is to begin with.

When SGE does finally get replaced, it will no doubt be replaced with a pre-existing character based attraction.

Well than Disney is just stupid! I swear that I hope that Pixar and any other Disney film production goes bankrupt if they put one more character attraction there. No one likes those dumbed down attractions any way. Get an Imagination Disney!

While I have no problem going to see and support the Pixar films because of their quality, I just won't go to a Disney film at the theater anymore because I don't want them to be successful financially because it could lead to a new theme park attraction that would replace something great. A lot of time people who combat those that complain say "if you don't like it, don't go", well as far as movies go, I do vote with my wallet that I'm sick and tired of having pre-existing character attractions be the only things added to the parks.

Exactly! I go to Disney to see something that I can't find at home.

Neither Does CoP, Space, TTA, Speedway etc.

So? EE is and so was MS.

It would show that Disney would be admitting a mistake
Light Magic? Rocket Rods? Adding more Fantasmic! shows? DCA makeover?

Even as horrible as SGE is, it does provide an outlet for selling merchandise
The same merch that can be bought everywhere else and is just flying off the shelves right now in this economy.

A lot of people feel that an adult based attraction has no place in the Magic Kingdom
Good for them.

It would have been a ton of money wasted in turing the attraction to SGE and then back to its original form when it could have just stayed as is to begin with.
The Stitch AAs would be used at the new Tiki room apparently. That's where most of SGE budget went to anyway.

When SGE does finally get replaced, it will no doubt be replaced with a pre-existing character based attraction.
As much as I typically agree with this kind of cynicism, it would actually be cheaper and faster just to bring back AE than make a new attraction from scratch.

Some thoughts.

Here's a couple of reasons Timekeeper is not returning.

1. It wasn't too popular to begin with.

2. Fans felt the attraction lost some of it's story elements when it was convert from Paris to Tokyo to America.

3. 9/11 and the scene from New York.

4. Disney's lack of good storytelling nowaday's.

Some thoughts.

The attractions you mentioned, especially CoP and Speedway, are both in danger of either being replaced (CoP) or converted to a character theme (Speedway).

Mission Space and Expedition Everest seem to be the exceptions to the rule right now. I love both attractions, but M:S got a lot of bad press and that will really hurt us theme park goers in the future because I feel it will allow Disney to be less creative and they will take less risks.

The mistake point is that they aren't going to bring something back after they thought it originally needed to be taken out.

Personally I wish they would move the Stitch AA to the Tiki Room. They've already taken the superior original attraction away and a new show is desperately needed there. I think a Stitch show would be an upgrade over New Management.

The only reason Mission Space got bad press was because of the deaths. It really won't affect creativity, just make them use more precautions.

CoP's closure is very unlikely. Especially given the money spent on fixing up the first 3 acts and the new posters outside. Not to mention the increase in crowds now that SM is closed and Marni hinting of how it's on the "to do" refurb list. Speedway is not rumored for such an overlay and I don't know why you thought it did.

Also who thought it needed to be taken out? It may have very well not been Imagineering or guests. If it were either two it wouldn't have even lasted the 8 years it did. Pushing plush seems to be the reason SGE was even created in the first place.

AE could be brought back as a temporary thing like the MSEP from 1999-2001. They could even advertise it "WITH FASTPASS" as I'm sure it would be cheaper to modify the current sign work and ticket desgin then remove the machines altogether.

Oh come on the Cars overlay rumors have been going strong since the film opened. I don't think they'll go through with it, but the rumors have definitely been there.

Going strong? When was the last time Al Lutz, Marni, Lee etc talked about them? With RRR begin built at DCA, and possibly DHS, I doubt it'll happen.

Not to mention testing of the new cars which certainly do not feature a Cars theme.

I doubt it will happen too, but if CoP were to get replaced with something like Incredibles, it would make sense for them to convert the Speedway to Cars. Just like SGE was designed to sell merchandise, moreso than to entertain day guests, would it surprise anyone for them to throw a few bucks into the Speedway to help sell Cars merchandise?

But they aren't and that's the purpose of Pixar Place; not to pixarize anything in the other parks.

4. Disney's lack of good storytelling nowaday's.

Huh? Everest has one of the most intriguing stories of any attraction in any of the theme parks

The new animated features are anticipated to be some of the best stuff Disney has created in a long time.

Toy Story Mania (I can't speak for the DHS version) at DCA has a great story as well that is carried through the entirety of the attraction even to the gift shop.

The concept art for the new DCA also has great story elements.

Your comment is, quite frankly, false. Yes, there are some elements of the parks that may have bad story, such as Stitch's Supersonic Celebration, but there are incredible elements of story throughout the rest of the resorts. You can find examples of poor storytelling from any era of Disney theme parks, not just the one we're in today.

Just like Fantasyland isn't the only place to find character based attractions in the MK, Pixar Place will hardly be the only place to find Pixar based attractions at WDW, I can promise you that.

The story and queue are better than the attraction itself, IMO

I think that TSMM is a well done attraction and is a very solid D-ticket that the Studios needed. It appeals to the entire family and can easily be updatable. While I think taking away the Single Rider Line really stinks, I expect to ride this attraction a couple of times on my next trip.
